Fair chance I reckons. Top club in the competition, a legendary SUPERSTAR in charge who has won the thing in his playing days, against a team who has a bit of heritage of giantkilling in the competition. Plus the general buzz about our flicky-flicky. There are a couple of other potentials as well...

Colchester United v Bradford City

Corby Town v Luton Town

Harrow Borough v Chesterfield

Notts County v Gateshead

Stevenage v MK Dons

Southport v Sheffield Wednesday Biggest club in the competition, bound to be an attraction

Rotherham United v York City

Havant & Waterlooville v Droylsden

Bury v Exeter City

Cheltenham Town v Morecambe

Hayes & Yeading v Wycombe Wanderers

Dagenham & Redbridge v Leyton Orient Jellied eel derby

AFC Wimbledon v Ebbsfleet United

Lincoln City v Workington or Nuneaton Town

Mansfield Town v Torquay United

Hereford United v Hythe Town

AFC Bournemouth v Tranmere Rovers

Carshalton Athletic or Chelmsford City v Hendon or Metropolitan Police

Swindon Supermarine or Bath City v Eastwood Town

Rushden & Diamonds v Yeovil Town

Southampton v Shrewsbury Town

Cambridge United v Huddersfield Town

Burton Albion v Oxford United

Gillingham v Farnborough or Dover Athletic

Tamworth or Grimsby v Crewe Alexandra

Darlington v Bristol Rovers

Guiseley v Crawley Town

Brighton & Hove Albion v Woking

Macclesfield Town v Southend United

Rochdale v FC United of Manchester Lancashire derby, might want to feature the disenfranchised of FC United, novelty value

Carlisle United v Sheffield or Tipton

Leiston or Dartford v Port Vale

Forest Green Rovers v Northampton Town

Fleetwood Town v Walsall

Barnet v Charlton Athletic a rarely seen derby

Plymouth Argyle v Swindon Town

Accrington Stanley v Oldham Athletic

Hartlepool United v Vauxhall Motors

Stockport County v Peterborough United

Brentford v Aldershot Town

Can't see much else there. I reckon we could be the lunchtime offering.

I doubt it as not really much chance of a giant killing - when do they decide ?

i was thinking Hereford V Hythe might be on the gogglebox.
Previous giant killers v lowest place club. There may be an upset on the cards ( we can only hope! )

I'd say the plymouth/swindon game has a chance since since both teams are, in terms of the teams that are involved, "big" teams, two cities full of fans to tune in, as well as general football fans, which may outnumber one biggish city, and one little village full of fans, general footie fans and a small number hoping for an upset (I don't think there are a lot of people who will only tune in if they expect an upset).

An underdog win would be dramatic and exciting, but people won't know an underdog has won before the game. TV people want viewers more than drama.

Rochdale versus FC United is probably a fair shout...but wouldn't be surprised if they go for the Stains game or maybe even Hartlepool versus Vauxhall.

I just think the GUS factor will pull in the cameras for this one. They like to have a story to hang on the match, and there's a story unfolding here under his guidance. Bit of archive footage from his Chelsea days, a moderately amusing interview, a few shots of him leaping around on the touchline, throw in a couple of aerial shots of the Amex, and BANG - you've got yourself a show.

ESPN have the rights as well so would maybe expect three televised games for the first round.

On that basis I guess we have a chance, especially IF we perform at Peterborough on Sat.

I think a decision will need to be reached before the Peterborough game.
