Don’t worry, the game will be switched to a stupid day and time which will make it almost impossible to get to anyway.
It's already been moved, Sunday 2pm

How much is it usually?
are you mixing up job cuts on maintenance with unspecified ticket office closures, or is there firm reported plans for the latter? here is a problem for this dispute, theres half a dozen issues, with two groups of employers. jobs, safety, ticket offices, pensions, hours, all been thrown around without any solid information. but its really about pay, they'll eventually settle for a pay rise near inflation and some "assurances".
I'm not mixing up anything. It has been clear from the start that this is a multiple problem issue and not just a pay dispute.

Is it time for the worker to make a stand against their union?
In answer to the original question.

Ticket offices are doomed IMO.
Here in Sweden, all of them are gone. Twenty years ago we had 100+, last year the remaining three (Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö) were closed down. And while we are a little bit ahead in digitalisation compared to pretty much any European country, I imagine similar developments happened in a lot of other countries as well. And as soon as it is successful - saving millions and millions while having little to no effect other than people having to adapt - everyone is bound to follow sooner or later (for good or bad) as the idea of saving those millions of pounds must be very tempting.
Maybe not quite yet but in due time ticket offices will be seen as obsolete, similar to phone booths.

that is from RMT, just a list of all the ticket offices (surprised at many still have one). we've been round this one before, claims all the ticket offices would close and yet so many are still open. down in the article the comment from Rail Delivery Group is " no decisions have been taken over ticket offices".
What has the impact been of TFL closing all London Underground ticket offices out of interest ? While I support the strikers, having manned ticket offices at almost every station in this day and age is not something I can really get on board with.
I’m not sure on the 5 minute stretch of rail we really need manned ticket offices at Goring, Durrington, West Worthing, Worthing & Lancing
Yet the workers have been told 2000 jobs are going. Where to start? Ticket Offices?
There's a lot of infrastructure still to be built for contactless payments or electronic barriers to be installed. I went to London recently and easily used my debit card on the contactless terminals.
Again, replies picking up on the tickets issue but no replies about female safety or disabled access.
Classic "divide and conquer" by Johnson. More smoke and mirrors that will let a lot of Little Englanders get their knickers in a twist about the bolshie evil trade unions whilst the Tories carry on ruining what's left of the UK, and this and similar stunts will no doubt propel them to another election victory

Thoroughly enjoying Mick Lynch dismantling arguments from Tory lightweights and shit stirring News presenters, with simple, no bullshit straight talking.

That's great if they are working. Many don't and take months to repair.
Was in Gothenberg last month, it was no drama at all. We don't need them
Slow trains though in Sweden though
I agree with nearly all your post apart from point one. Particularlly the "not much". With inflation running so high a 3% increase is pretty poor - especially for those on low pay. But to even get that they have to agrees to 2000 people losing their jobs. The biggest thing though is the changes to their pensions which will see all of them out of pocket and some to the tune of thousands of pounds. Now remind me the last sector to go on strike about pensions ... ah .... yes ... Uni staff
The ticket machines? I think only about 5-10% of the ticket purchases are done in the machines, rest of it is done online.
Indeed. People may want them for nostalgic reasons but in a world where more than 90% own a smartphone there really isnt any need for ticket offices anywhere.
