The season needs to be stopped immediately and not resumed until cases are at s manageable level like they were last June when the season resumed. This is likely to take many months, realistically that will cancel this season but I choose people's lives over money.

If this is a parody account, when are we to believe what you are saying?

Your statement sounds very reasonable. Or am I getting this account mixed up with someone else's?

Must be getting close to the time that clubs and the PL are forced kicking and screaming to place their duty of care for their employees above the increasingly futile pursuit of playing out fixtures with diminished squads and postponements.

Young, fit, healthy footballers contracting Covid is bad enough but soon some poor sod on the training ground staff or stadium staff or in the catering dept etc is going to become infected and possibly die form this. Kudos to the clubs for giving it a go but with 1000+ people dying / day it is becoming unsustainable and unethical to not at least suspend games for the moment. Carrying on regardless is becoming increasingly tone deaf to what is happening out here in the real world.

This is how I feel as well.

Can't really parody 1,300 people dying a day and rising can you?

Villa will just have to play a youth team. They didn't mind last year, that Liverpool had to do so in a league cup game, due to an unavoidable clash with the club World Cup.

Given they are captained by a proven lockdown transgressor, it's hard to feel too much pity for them.

IMO it should be. If the only reason is that it sets an example as to what a lockdown looks like to younger people then it's worth it. 1,325 dead today. Expect we will top 2k by the end of next week.

This is apparently a full blown lockdown but lots of things still feel very normal. I would rather there was football to watch, but at what cost? Think it needs to be wrapped up, maybe even cancelled and just fulfil the FA Cup and euro cups over the rest of the season. This will also allow for Euro 2021 and Olympics to possibly go ahead.

Apologies, I thought it had previously been mentioned that yours was a parody account. I must have been getting you mixed up with someone else.
I agree Covid wouldn't be a sensible subject for a parody account to comment on. Particularly at the moment with 1300 more people dead today.

The season will be halted, and I think an announcement today, three weeks

Better late than never but I really can't see the situation in terms of number of daily infections, deaths, hospitalisations - all the key metrics being much better in 3 weeks time. It should be an indefinite suspension alongside the lockdown.

The scenes outside Marine's ground yesterday were just ridiculous given the status of Covid right now. The problem with football at the moment isn't simply managing the protocols around training and BCD matches, but the behaviour it generates in the wider population - be that like at Marine, or households mixing to watch SKY or BT.

Football didn't do itself any favours this weekend (be that people crowding streets to gawp at a team bus, players celebrating in dressing rooms or the BBC sending radio AND tv production teams, commentators and pundits all over the country to cover games when travel is supposed to be for 'essential' purposes only). Bye bye football.

It's a good job our PPG is still better than Fulham's as if the season is halted I doubt it will restart unless the Euros are ditched.

And why are footballers still gobbing all over the floor?

Yesterday both managers did it (Potter just before the penalties). It's a cultural thing rather than any necessity.

Football isn't doing enough to keep itself going

Never underestimate the stupidity of people. Or is it overestimate?! I'm just staying in all the bloody time on me todd. Not great for me but best for my family and other old folks out there. Not really that hard is it.
