dont matter
well 6 goals in 6 games speaks for itself really
Thats all very good, and i would give him a year whatever division we're in, but like i said, it depends on who the manager is(god help the directors if its not Slade) and whether he wants him next season.

I would be delighted to see us sign Owusu, he's the impact player we need coming off the bench. I think Dicker coming here in the summer is a done deal. If Borrowdale and Heath were signed up as back-up defenders also then I see no reason why with the squad we'd have that we wouldn't be able to finish in the top 10.

Didn't Borrowdale sign for QPR for about 500k can't see him willing to drop down and play back up to McNaulty which is a shame. Will need a left back for the first few weeks of the season though

He did, initally on loan, but he has never played for them. I am hoping that whoever is the new manager there will see him as surplus to requirements.

I dunno if anyone would agree with me but I don't think Murray and Forster have really worked well together as a partnership. Perhaps, that's something Slade or whoever is in charge next season could fix but my fear is neither them have enough presence up front to win the ball and retain possesion. They're both excellent strikers but I think they may be better working off someone like Owusu or Andrew.

I wouldn't ship Gargan out for the sake of it. He's shown promise out on loan this season and although he may not be ready for first team action with us there would be no harm in seeing how he gets on next season in the reserves/out on loan.

hart is yet to score a goal this season - not really good enough for a striker. the fact that he has CREATED the goals that look like they are going to keep us up, and the majority of those assists have come from wide positions or crosses into the box, suggest that no matter where he wants to play, getting him in a position where he can get balls into the box is effective - ie a winger

forster and murray are not going to last an entire season without getting injured, especially with forster not getting any younger. having two decent back up strikers is going to be a must, and is one of the major problems we have had this season in that they havent been there - owusu can, and has, easily solved this problem. its just a shame it took until march and it took dean white to rectify it!

he HAS to be offered a contract - whether he is willing to come here and possibly play second fiddle to murray and forster though is a different matter, especially as his recent heroics for us will no doubt have alerted other clubs to his availability

forster, murray, owusu, davies - that looks far far better than the options we have spent the majority of this season with

-Without Owusu, we would not have had a cat in hell's chance of staying up. He deserves to be offered a 2 year contract - up to him if he wants to sign, though.

-OGH is a legend but cannot be relied upon to bang in enough goals next season.

-I would take any offer of over 400,000 pounds for Murray. The number of injuries he has had this season is worrying for the future.

-Anyone who thinks Dixon and Gargan are good back-up strikers for an ambitious league team is a MENTALIST.

Talk of offering him a two year contract is ridiculous.

I think it depends very much on his wage demands and whether he wants regular first team football.

If Murray stays we need to build our team round him. If Forster recovers fitness well, he won'y be expecting to start on the bench.

Where does that leave Owusu? A similar impact role to Savage perhaps? Not sure he would settle for that.

That isn't even mentioning Hart, Davies, Gargan, Dixon and even POSSIBLY Robinson.

Me? Controversial I know but I would plump for:

Murray - SKILLS
Davies - Looks decent, is contracted anyway and will only get better.
Owusu - On a one-year deal.
Hart - Not likely to be on a lot and shown he is professional enough to take a back seat for long periods.
Gargan - Developing and cheap.

I just don't think we can risk paying Forster high wages when we are unlikely to get a full season out of him. Time to be ruthless perhaps and try and shed a few big earners. Has not looked like forming a good partnership with Murray and we need an alternative to Murray, Davies etc in the form of Owusu.

That said, who stays and goes HAS to be left up to whoever ends up taking over.

I'd say get rid of Craig Davies, he's easily the worst of the potential six strikers, get gargan out on loan somewhere (Aldershot?). Hart give 1 year aswell as Owusu. Keep Murray and forster, i expect Forster to pick up 1 major injury somewhere next season anyway, and Murray's also quite shakey, so i'd want atleast 4 decent strikers at the club next season
