Hart can NOT play in many positions, that thought has spoilt his career. ??? He is a striker, plain and simple. I've said it a few times, I don't want Owusu signed permanently. We've got Davies, Murray and Forster, and we've got Hart aswell with Dixon and Gargan in reserve. We've got enough imo.

This is the Hart who made a career as a right winger, 3 promotions in that position and a stint in the second tier, as a right wnger.

Why would you want Dixon as an option, in over a year, he has done nothing. Gargan is an unknown quantity and has a knee injury at present.

If you want to compete you really need 4 strikers, which would be Forster, Murray, Davies plus one, which should be Owusu. 6 goals in 6 games suggests he offers something at this level.

What a shocker, you quote me. ???

Owusu is scoring the goals for us, he's legend for his efforts for us, but that's what happens with loanees. The magic won't be there next season, look at Bas Savage.

Savage got goals the following season. He was not starting as many games, but one of the things tht we have missed in an impact player like Savage since he went.

If you honestly do not want Owusu here next season, it shows a real lack of understanding of what has worked this season and what will be needed next season, whichever league we are in.

Still I guess it is be expected from a Swindon fan.

I don't really see your point... ???

"that's what happens with loanees. The magic won't be there next season"

The Zamora magic wasn't there the following season, Knight was shit when he signed, Iwelumo has been rubbish since we loaned him...get my drift?

Worked against Southend and against a few other teams. Wilkins also put Forster on the right to mix things up. As we were not blessed with out and out wingers, I don't see the problem?

You've completely ignore the context of that, Ninja Elephant's ridiculous reasoning for not signing Owusu is because Savage and other loanees are no good in their second seasons (not that Savage was on loan anyway).

Having said that - Savage wasn't half the player on the right wing that he was up front, it was largely agreed at the time that the Southend game was the one exception.

Good point with Zamora, but to be fair, those were completely different circumstances and the strikers already at the club were fairly cack, so his coming in massively improved us, whereas I don't think Owusu will.

And you're completely ignoring the context of what I said, I didn't use that as my main point, my point was that with Murray and Forster fit to go along with Davies and Gary Hart, we don't need Owusu. The point about loaness was additional to that.

Davies can't hit a cows arse with a banjo, Hart is not a goalscorer, Forster is old and injury prone, Murray is injury prone and there is every chance will leave for a better club than us in the summer.

We disagree on all 4 players then, Murray played despite his injury at the start of the season and that has resulted in his problems this season. We don't have an endless pot of money and I would rather see us bring in some quality midfielders next season, I think that's the priority for what money we do have.

Yes - he should get a contract offered to him, and he should bloody well take it.

To those who think we'll have too many strikers. Look at who those strikers are. Foster, Murray, Davies and probably Hart. I'm no mathematician, but the chances of 2 of them 3 (excluding Davies) being injured at the same time is probably pretty high, and probably pretty frequent. And Davies certainly hasn't warranted a place in the starting line up anytime soon.

I would not want to be in a position, which we've been in this season, where the majority of our strikers are injured (or badly out of form), and we have to start getting in players on loan again. I think we've been lucky with Owusu. We won't be able to get another 6 goals in 6 games type striker on emergency loan next season. It just won't happen.

Owusu needs to be signed as Muzza and Fozzy are becoming sicknotes. Barndoor still needs to prove himself as a goalscorer and at present is 2nd choice to OGH.

Absolutley spot on. I made the same point in pre-season. There was always a high risk that the superb Forster would get injured as he's 35 and Murray, although excellent, is injury prone. And what did we have on the bench? Very little. I'd let Dixon and Robinson go but keep the rest. We'd have one of the best striker squads in the division (which ever), strength on the bench providing cover for injuries and very healthy competition up front: something we haven't had for years and years. So yes to giving Owusu a permanent deal, what more does he have to do to earn one?

I would love to have Owusu signed next season, We've got the footballing brain and clinical finishing of Forster, the skill of Glenn Murray and Owusu would provide the big, solid forward.

I'd like to have:

Forster (experienced)
Murray (young)
Davies (young)
Owusu (experienced
Hart (low wages)

Gargan and Dixon stay in the reseves next season, bring them up in a few years

i know it may be too many strikers but keeping owusu would be soo good seen as though forster and murray are picking up injures and hart is getting on a little so he picks up little knocks and davies is good with pace but shooting needs a bit practising other than that hes a good player
