Having watched the last TOTP, on Sunday, it reminded me of my loathing for Sir Jimmy Saville, so therefore thought I take the opportunity to unload.

I have a major problem with Saville, very much in the mould of the person you were warned about as a child.

As and when Saville finally shuffles off.
Then after the inevitable tabloid fuelled 'a nation mourns' frenzy, with plenty of Anne Robinson-eques eulogies, and a 5 page thread on here of what a top bloke he was. Are we likely to get stories about the 'real' Jimmy Saville.

I for one would quite happily believe anything negative said by any relative/friend/lover?/victim.

He's a necrophiliac. He gets frustrated. When they get cremated.

Well I heard that Scooby Doo likes to show his dogs lipstick to Shaggy and Peter who then indulge in a "scooby snack".

Why slag him off? He's a national institution. Lets not forget all the fantastic charity work he has done and the huge amounts raised for Stoke Mandeville, one of the leading hospitals in this country.

Sir Jimmy Saville   imho

Fair enough, each to their own.
I don't expect everybody to agree I was just curious as to whether I was alone or not, with my own personal feelings.

I had no idea about Irvine Welsh or the 9 year old, but that's the kind of thing I was wondering might happen.

Someone I used to work with grew up near his mansion. Let's just say the parents in the vacinity were cautious about letting their children play too close on their own and frequently warned them to keep their distance from the house.

I remember seeing an interview with the great man a while ago where he was asked why at Stoke Mandeville, he liked spending so much time with the recently-deceased. Rather than neatly side-stepping the issue, he rambled on about how that person could have been a very special invidividual while they were alive, and what an honour it was to spend time with their corpse etc etc...:nono:

That plus the fact that he still gets his dead mother's (aka "the duchess") clothes drycleaned once a year despite her having popped off years ago suggests he's a bit of a, er, "character".

Wasn't there that case where he broke some girls arm whilst trying to "get to know her"? Dropped after a hefty pay off to the parents. Scumbag.

Is it he who is alluded to in one of Irvine Welsh's books? Think it's the Acid House.

Nope. It's 'Lorraine Goes To Livingston', the first story in 'Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance' (written in 1996), featuring Freddy Royle, a necrophiliac TV personality who lives at a hospital he has donated a wing to, as the hospital turns a blind eye to his activities:-

Freddy Royle had had, by his standards, a tiring day prior to his late afternoon arrival at St. Hubbins.
He had been in the television studios all morning filming an episode of From Fred With Love.
A young boy, whom Fred had sorted out to swim with the dolphins at Morcambe's Marineland, while his grandparents were brought back to the scene of their honeymoon, was all excited in the studio and writhed around on his lap, getting Freddy so aroused and excited that they had to do several takes.
-Oi loike em still, he said, -very, very still.
Barry, the producer, was not at all amused.
-In the name of God, Freddy, take the rest of the flipping afternoon off and go to the hospital and shag a stiff, he moaned.
-Let's see if we can dampen that bloody libido of yours.
