As said on the 'official' Savile thread, the problem with this one, other than the lack of class, insight and humility, is the acceptance of it.
People then, like now are happy to believe the accusations, but NOBODY did anything at the time.
Surely Glitter, King, et al would have been enough to investigate JS.
The fact that they Police/BBC didn't, now make the next scary leap of faith a possibility.
Who else?
