Hardly a surprise. A bit twattish by the club really, and to lose him as a youth coach is potentially a disaster.

Whoever manages the Albion, some people will always criticise the board. Just look at the stick Archer and Bellotti got.

I think that since Deano left his job as Youth team coach, our youth set-up has gone backwards.

Nie bloke, and I hope he does further his career elsewhere.
Tbh, DK is right in saying his best interests might lie elsewhere, as he can still manage at another club, and could possibly keep improving as a manager.
He might do well to nick a few of his youth-team from us as well, if MA doesn't see them fitting into his plans.

Anyway, good luck Dean Wilkins, wherever it will be applied.

Good luck Dean - you will do well in all you do so you won't need much luck - Dick Knight has made the biggest mistake doing what he has done - we had a good manager and coach but most of all a decent bloke who people and most importantly the club could trust - shouldn't even use the word trust and dick knight together - they just don't go - lets just hope that this dosen't come back to haunt us - all the best dean - see you at falmer when a certain person F**cks off

Bitter and twisted. It was a board decision and THEY, presumably, did not take the decision lightly. Do remember that Dick was willing to take a chance with Wilkins when a great deal of people thought it would end in tears.

Your dislike for Dick is tiresome and wholly misplaced in my opinion. He certainly deserves a lot more respect than you are willing to give him. But of course you know the truth and we should all trust you as Empire said so... :bla: although he didn't actually say that.

Somersetshire
wish him all the best, think he will go on to big and better clubs in his coaching career. Thank you for all the work with the youth and steadying the club in the last 12-18 months

Big(ger?) clubs?

BETTER clubs?

High up on the South Downs.
I think that since Deano left his job as Youth team coach, our youth set-up has gone backwards.

Perhaps the reason for that is simply that the present cohort of 17/18 year olds are less talented. When I saw Vic Bragg's teams play last season, they have always looked well-coached.
The successful team that included Lynch, Elphick and Fraser were not all discovered by Dean Wilkins. I believe the first Albion coach that had much input with them was Les Rogers who recently retired. DW is a good coach but he is not the only one who has contributed to the youth policy.
