Wild park residents !!!

You do not need an injunction to get the the DVLA involved checking their vehicles, the HRMC to check how much tax they pay and the council to see if they litter and the police to target their actions, from speeding within their 'new home' to seatbelts, tyres, etc etc...

It happens to us all that will travel to work tomorrow morning, but alas not to travellers,

We are all exposed to this, but as Edna alluded to, they would rather target the law abiding citizens that go 35 mph in a 30 zone whilst the council hire an army of parking wardens to fleece those that over stay their 'pay and display' ticket.

Its a 'cop' out and Edna is the new age copper that prefers the easy ticket.
Alternatively ...

Learn to distinguish between the powers of the police and the powers of the council. And get your head around the fact that neither the police nor the council can just storm into a situation and chuck their weight around - however much you'd like them to do so.

What do you expect the police to do, out of interest?

As has been mentioned in other posts........do these 'travellers' normally have their vehicles taxed, MOT'd and insured....?

I genuinely don't know the answer.

From my observations this week ... most of the caravans parked at the Wild Park have no vehicles available to tow them off the site immediately. Just turning up and ordering them to leave simply won't achieve anything.

Which course of action that I posted are the relevant departments actually unable to perform due to them being being travellers ??

Seriously which ones ??

Funny that isn't it. If it was an law biding citizens in the same situation then you'd have 20 police tow away trucks smashing the place down to tow us away but as its pikeys none are nowhere to be seen or unavailable, how strange.

They can probably take all of those courses of action once they have gone through the appropriate legal processes. But the effect isn't going to be the immediate disappearance of the travellers that you want to see moved.

Years and years ago, I worked for the Inland Revenue and I recall one case that involved chasing unpaid tax on estimated earnings from organising illegal cock fights. I never found out whether the Revenue actually managed to collect the tax. What I do know is that the cock fights didn't stop.

Shirley their fecking vans pulled them across the grass banks in the first place---so therefore they can tow them back out again? Are you being serious my Lord B ????????

The vehicles are out working. Turn up at the Wild Park with a tow truck - and, most of the time, they aren't there.

Into the middle of Lewes Road? And dump them into the middle of the already long queues of traffic delayed by the Coldean roadworks.

As a user of the A270, I wouldn't thank you for that.

Tell the residents of moulscoombe that the pikeys have fiddled with a local kid. They will be gone in 24 hours, or bonfire night might come early.

And what is this 'work' that these vehicles are doing? Do they not have drivers or are they remotely controlled? Have you heard of the phrase 'When in a BIG hole stop digging' ?

I am fully aware of the difficulties ......

But get into them, like those department get into many of us.

The Inland Revenue, HRMC, DVLA Police and the councils do NOT become powerless just because they are travellers they CHOOSE to.

Yeah I have no doubt there are more Flahertys and brothers of brothers that muddy the waters, but get into their vehicles, their documents and any unsafe cars, unsafe storage of gas cylinders etc etc and get the police to monitor their movements, no seatbelts, mobile phone anything and everything.

It happens each day to us all.

You LB and Edna are part of the problem, your resigned to the difficulties and look elsewhere.

I am not sure of your profession, but my god you and your ilk I am sure have gone after some poor eccentric sod who contravened some rule somewhere somehow, but quickly lose your mojo when this particular problem turns up and you offer reasons for non enforcement.

He'll keep digging simmo untill he thinks he's dug his way to Australia. Problem with Bracknell is he thinks he's always right and one of those Looney left kind of chaps, thinks about criminals feelings but not us law abiding tax payers.

Oh come LB, my biggest surprise is the value of their cars they use for pleasure, nothing to do with their pick ups and transits.

He has picked on the wrong people tonight tho! He will be round them tomorrow making them all tea & toast before they go on their lawful business of the day.
