What is the reason that some travelers behave the way they do?

What do you expect the police to do, out of interest?

I Expect the police to do very little, to go after people who will pay fines and turn up in court because its easier, I expect the police not to fuss too much about the travellers, I expect the police to whine on about lack of manpower when seeing two of them sitting in a car doing nothing to block a road off when there is an incident is quite common. I expect them to turn a blind eye to the drug dealings around Brighton, I could go on but this topic is about travellers.

What should the Police do is an entirely different question. For a start they should think long and hard about the majority of the law abiding population and start standing up for them. This from a bloke who is mid fifties, runs a company, is an employer has a family, no criminal record not even a speeding offence. And who's every dealing with the police involving calls for help has been met with huge dissapointment. I now find it very hard to give a positive message to the kids about the force.

lord the authorities HAVE acted effectively? yeah right have you seen the fecking state of wild park now!?

The last time I looked (yesterday afternoon at about 3.00pm), the travellers had been removed - which is what this thread was asking for - and the council were clearing the site of rubbish. The grass will take a few weeks to recover. I've seen worse damage at other sites.

Not all travellers live in caravans some of them have moved into homes and all their mates and friends used the address, I heard them talking about it on that program my big fat gypsie wedding

In that case, surely their insurance is invalid if they're not parking at the registered address?

I know it's not your decision but it annoys me that the police are given permission to turn out in force to peaceful protests (and we all know what can go wrong there) yet your hands are tied to stop this bunch of scrags. Honestly, did Diana die for nothing?

Why not do what you would do if I parked there ......

Check all of their vehicles, I am sure you would get the tow trucks in to put my car in the compound and why not see if they wear their seatbelts and if they use their mobile phones whilst driving.

We are all exposed to this, but as you say 'what do you expect us to do' its a mindset you afford only to travellers.
