Took my Wife, then Girlfriend, to her first and last game at Withdean, we played Hartlepool midweek and we won a cracking 4 - 2 encounter in the Withdean rain.

She still moans about this now, and I think she had a point. I had genuinely said do you fancy going to Brighton thinking she would know I meant the football it being a Tuesday?

Thought she was a bit over dressed on my arrival at her house and when I mentioned this it did turn the mood a little!

Oh how we chuckled as it started raining ...

Still she is Mrs OW so can't be all bad (or can it?) :falmer::down:

My wife's one and only game watching Brighton was that nightmare at Bournemouth a couple of seasons ago when that **** Henderson gifted them a goal in injury time after a truly terrible match. I couldn't speak for an hour in the car, and she was somewhat concerned at the effect the game had on me. I'm not sure she'll want to see another one...

Brighton factually.....
My wife has only been to three Albion games the play off final and little leons wonder goal !! then she saw Bas Savage destroy Orient on i think his first game for us (anyway his family where in the stands with us). and then The Great win at PalARSE........she loved that being pushed down the gangway when we scored and the palarse fans ran on the pitch.

I wish one of you lot had taken me to my first Albion game. It would've saved me a whole lot of money & heartache..

I think my wife's last visit to a match was the role of chauffeuring me + others to hereford in 1997. Unfortunately I couldn't get a ticket for her so she stayed in a car park wondering why the shops were closing early.

Pretty sure that was the game when Kuipers walked the ball into his own net and chased the ref claiming he hadn't crossed the line..and was promptly booked!

Mrs Gwylan has been to about a dozen Albion games with me and hasn't seen us lose yet - she hasn't been for a few years though, not since we've had the kids. She's fine about coming to the football, she even tolerated a freezing cold day in Bradford about six or seven years ago.

You may be right ... but when, oh when, should she let it go ...

BTW a mate took his wife to Spurs, who he had a brief interest in, and now HE looks after the kids and SHE doesn't miss one single home game ... twat!

Took my ex wife, but at the time girlfriend to her first and last match in the 70s...Millwall at home. Suddenly became apparent that the North Stand had become full of Millwall fans, and whilst looking to see if the police were anywhere near, turned to see my girl being strangled by her brand new Brighton scarf by some docker... had to do something, took a step forward and got battered to the ground and professionally booted for a couple of minutes. She never came came again, cant understand it...

Did it stretch the scarf or is it OK?

I've taken my girlfriend to 3 games at the withdean, she didn't enjoy any if them! I'm bringing her along today, and I'm hopeful for the result as the pattern so far is LWL, so should be a win today.

My wife's one and only game was last week against Oldham.

We did the full hospitality package (Had the days off selling programmes)
The overall days was good, meal etc, but the game did not leave her enthused, she won't be hurrying back.

But i will be there, you might hear me

Ex wives both went to games. The second being an American was highly amused by the chants as that sort of obscenity and abuse is just to heard in the US. We went to an evening match at Brentford and despite me warning her it would be chilly she thought she was hard and didn't dress up accordingly. Well by half time we were 2-0 and going nowhere and she was frozen solid. I opted to do the chivalrous thing and take her home. As we lost 4-0 in the end (again) I wasn't to upset.

Took my partner to her first Albion game - against Hartlepool - at Priestfield. It was a truly awful 0-0 draw...and it was our first date!

I know how to impress a lady!

Surprisingly, we are still together after more than 12 years!

Didn't your wife mind that you took your girlfriend afterwards?

Boom boom ... :clap2:

Amazing how long the can remember one footie game and the hurt and pain it caused yet can't remember to put petrol in the bleedin' car!
