I can't believe he is being slated for being relegated. They had a huge points total for relegation, and he did incredibly well (did I mention their very small budget) to even keep them in the running. With the sort of money we have he could work absolute wonders.

Agree, you could see it that he has acheived more than Poyet.

Preston is blot on his career although they have not done any better since he left.

We would definately see alot of goals if he was the manager!

He made my heart sink a bit when his name was mentioned but actually, I reckon he has some of the qualities we need.

Not sure if he's one of these managers who has one "natural" club, though, and will underachieve elsewhere.

The main reason is "he's been relegated twice from the Championship".... great logic, completely ignoring the fact that he got them there punching MILES ABOVE THEIR WEIGHT in the first place. I can only presume it was cos Uncle Spielberg posted it that DF has been panned....

I'd be delighted with him. He got shafted at Preston, and has done excellently with Peterborough when you consider what he has to work with.

Ferguson deserves some credit but the bottom line is his teams leaks goals and he couldn't save them from relegation. Survival clearly was do-able as Flitcroft showed at Barnsley. I'm worried he's second favourite for the Albion post although it is very early doors.

and how many times were those promotions out of the championship?
all he's shown is that he is average/poor at championship level (pne & all the pboro relegations) but is good at getting 1 team promoted out of league 1. we aren't in league 1, and we aren't peteborough, so why would we want him?

He just seems far too small time.

A fair record with Peterborough and a poor record with Preston.

Hardly big league stuff and as we keep telling ourselves, we're a big club now so could probably hope to attract somebody a little more "box office".

The next appointment wants to be somebody who really helps us push on, not just somebody to steady the ship and do a satisfactory job. We're ambitious and can do better
