Penalty aside, I completely agree with the OP.

Bringing on dier psychologically got Colombia’s backs up and pushed us back. I’d only ever bring on another defensive player if you’re winning by more than 1 goal and there is 5 mins left max!

I personally would have bought on Loftus Cheek.

But look, I haven’t been happier watching England since 2002 after Denmark game... but we have Sweden now, not Brazil. Regardless it’s England so we won’t make it easy for ourselves!

disagree because they'd been more into the game for about 10 min when that change was made. i sort of agree a more like for like forward player would have been better, but Dier coming on did not change the flow of the game at that point, which had already occured.
