Why are people unhappy with Savage??

I have to admit to having only seen him once in the stripes - against Cheltenham where I thought he was excellent. However, I have heard since that he has played alright and is the only player in the team retaining possession. However, from the comments on here it would appear that his habit of keeping possession is actually pissing people off. I don't get it.

Nothing against Savage would just prefer us to create an established midfield pairing with two of our players who will be here for more than another month

He's ok, but do we really need him?

I think he's a good player at this level. However, if I didn't know who he was and turned up to the game, I wouldn't pick him out as a stand out player.

He hasn't been outstanding as he is not 100% match fit , and perhaps we expect too much from him based upon his current wages at Derby which must be near the level of some reserve players in the Prem.

None of your buisness
People who moan about Savage in an Albion shirt our moaning because thats their nature. Swavage didn't play his best against Hereford but he still sprayed the ball around well passing into players paths rather than the usual lose momentum pass.
His problem is he can't pass forward because of the lack of options, If we had an attacking centre-mid who could link play with Savage and find areas of the pitch to exploit the Savage we saw on TV would come to life for the Albion.

Its plain obvious that its not Savage its Thomson who's the weak-link.

There is no denying his ability but what worries me is what happens when he goes? We are no closer to finding the right pairing in the middle of midfield and can't help but see Savage as a distraction from solving that issue

people are never satisfied and would still find something to moan about if we beat Mun Utd 10-0 in the champions league final. unfortunately our fans are going from being great SUPPORTERS to a bunch of pathetic moaners who I'd rather followed another club
We're all becoming Chelseafied , chip on the shoulder and tunnel vision. :lolol:

That's the one. Savage is used to playing with players who do the glamorous work for him, now there's no one to do that he doesnt look as good as some might remember him. It's clear he can pass the ball well, but people are expecting him to open up defences with his passing, which he never really did anyway.

pogle's wood
constant 4 or 5 yard passes backwards & sideways around the centre circle are not what we need & though he is a decent player the rest of the midfield & defence are continuously looking to give him the ball , then get it back, give him it again, until the opposition crowd him out & they revert to the inevitable hoof.
Having a player like Savage should be a bonus but without him the players would have to look for different options hopefully making us less one dimentional (or they could just carry on hoofing)

Don't you get it? It's essential as a Brighton fan that if the team try to keep possession and wait for gaps to exploit you start moaning that they're not getting it forwards.

And then, when their confidence suffers from all the heckling and they start to hit it long, it's your duty to groan about them hoofing it.

£27,000 pw,Albion paying 10% of it,AND training dispensations which are wonderful for team spirit, plus Adam Virgo could play there, couldn't he?

I think Savage is being made a bit of a scapegoat. If we were on a winning streak I'm sure everyone would be happy with the team including Savage. But we are not, and a high profile player like him is always likely to be under the spotlight.

We were shite before he arrived and the fact we are still shite has very little to do with Robbie Savage.

The problem is not Savage, it's Thomson.

Are you saying Thomson is not a problem?

Savage did a decent job on Saturday, but Thomson is like Oatway and Nicolas in that there is no goal threat, no creativity and no height.

Adams should bite the bullet and bin Thomson in favour of Fraser. If nothing else Tommy will learn to enforce from one of the best.
