Nice to get people arguing as to my ignorance or not amongst themselves. I'm no longer sure if I agree/like/understand myself anymore!

And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountains green
And was the holy lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen

And did the countenance divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among those dark Satanic mills

Hardly an original idea. Does he write for The Argus ?

Yeah, another great thread.

Can we get a posse of the self righteous to go and poke fun at those weak minded souls in the Chapel at Great Ormand Street Hospital.

I will expect Dr Richard Dawkins to be leading from the front...........what fun.

would be interesting to know which they put more faith in, the doctors and medicine or the prayer. given they could be in any other chapel or church, i fancy i know which they'd choose if they had to.

I'm not going to be a part of a binfest on this so this will be my last shout. But I think you have a slightly outdated/clouded view on modern religion. Certainly most Christian denominations (inc Catholicism) will now focus on the positives that can be taken from spiritual life, and I can genuinely say not since my school days have I heard a priest go all fire and brimstone.

So what's your take on the Bishop of Rome saying most churches in the UK are not "real churches" ?

To hell with all the Religions, they are the modern Plague on this planet. Its sickening to to see some athiests adopt the demeanour of fundementalists, a la dawkins, when being an athiest all you have to worry about is that you dont give the worms indegestion.

Any passing Aliens would think the whole human race is bat shit crazy.

Maybe because in real churches Bishops spend their time covering for Pedo Preists and glorifying a f***ing Nazi Pope.

Personally I agree that religions are a waste of time, literally. The amount of time and energy wasted by people following their various gods could be so much better spent. My experience, especially with some of the more enthusiastic christians, is that because sinning is expected of them (so they can apologize on Sunday amongst much joy etc), is that this is used as an excuse to sin, whilst non-believers will tend base their lives on basic morality. Another damaging side-effect is that people with strong religious beliefs may tend to pray for things to happen rather than putting their energies into making things happen, by working hard etc.

What a stupid post. It's called having faith, which you obviously have none, which is your loss obviously. But it's not big and clever posting your ignorant views on here, best keep them to yourself.

Pot, kettle, black.

Don't be a twat. How is sayin 'all religion is a waste of time' or whatever the thread title was, not being ignorant. You're talking rubbish.

He's not actually. Anybody who can give we 'idiots' tangable proof that any diety or higher existance is actually there might persaude us that those who do believe in such things are not the deluded and misguided fantasists that they look like to those of us with a grasp of reality.

Religion is something that people who need reasurance hang on to as they are too afraid to accept life wiothout such a crutch. Whilst religion can be good (mainly for those who use it) it can be very bad to others.
