Jesus Christ, get over it. If the Son of God had come to England, do you not think he would AT THE VERY LEAST have left some notification of the fact in Brighton? As it is, we are supposed to believe that he played in goal for Coventry City?*

*David Icke reference, obligatory in all threads that are descending towards binfests.

Well you're not insulting me cos that's larry david's face, a comedy legend. What religous zealots are preying on anybody? I've never met any of those.

Sorry, I thought all people in Derbyshire looked like that!

All religions rely on fear to instill faith in it's followers, (fear of damnation etc.). So, IMO, all religions are preying on people's fears. Could be any faith or denomination, makes no odds.

People leaning against that staff I mentioned earlier may get a sense of comfort and community from it, if so then good for them. But the preacher of the religion will then warn the person not to let go of the staff as it will lead them to damnation.

I'm not going to be a part of a binfest on this so this will be my last shout. But I think you have a slightly outdated/clouded view on modern religion. Certainly most Christian denominations (inc Catholicism) will now focus on the positives that can be taken from spiritual life, and I can genuinely say not since my school days have I heard a priest go all fire and brimstone.

Just a thought about religion(s)...

How many religions are there around the world?

From natives worshipping thunder in a far off corner of Africa, to High Catholicism in The Vatican...and all variations in between...

Tell me which one of the hundreds, if not thousands, is right?

I have no problem with people having faith if it gets them through the day, but would argue there is no universal truth...

What a stupid post. It's called having faith, which you obviously have none, which is your loss obviously. But it's not big and clever posting your ignorant views on here, best keep them to yourself.

Please note that anyone who disagrees with DerbyGull is ignorant.

Don't be a twat. How is sayin 'all religion is a waste of time' or whatever the thread title was, not being ignorant. You're talking rubbish.

Read the post I quoted, why are other peoples views ignorant?

First and last comment in this thread for me.

You are talking utter shit and stirring up crap for the sake of it. Stop being so ignorant.

As I thought, you are an arrogant, ignorant bigot.

FYI, as one of the few preachers on this board, I'm not sure I have ever told anyone that there is a risk of damnation. So much for your last argument. You better have a rethink.

Now he's at it, non belief isn't ignorant.

I agree. Read my post. The bit I quoted him saying was utterly ignorant, and incredibly offensive and personal to posters on here.

I was commenting on the thread title. That was the ignorant view i was on about. And how can argue that it isn't.

You said POST, not thread. Never mind it's past my bedtime.
