Why a new manager will bring immediate change

I don't buy that argument I'm afraid. If the players aren't putting in the effort, that's down to them.

The drawback with this argument is that it's the manager's job to get them to make the effort. If he can't, then it's pretty much the end of the road for him.

Agreed, we are all tactical experts, despite having no qualifications to do so, apart from playing the game when we were kids or amateurs, and a few hours on Championship Manager.

It's a bit like criticising a surgeon on the basis of having a box set of Grey's Anatomy, and having received 'Operation' as a Christmas present when we were 12, whereas he/she spent 7 years in medical school.

Is it bollocks. Do film critics know how to make a film? Of course not. But they can critique what they see on something they see week after week. It's irrelevant whether they know how to direct an actor, but they can make expert analysis on when an actor has been well directed.

By your reckoning we can make no informed opinion on anything unless we're trained experts! Poppycock.

Anyone could see would had a change in tactics last night. These boards are full of similar comments. None of us need to be trained experts to see that.
