In direct contrast to the Amex I would think it is a poor view from nearly every seat. Some seats miles from the pitch but with a very shallow rake.
OK for free though.
Come on, it wasn't free. Brown envelopes are not free.

I'm fascinated to see what it'll eventually look like inside. Stadiums where the fans are some distance from the pitch often lack atmosphere. Upton Park is a classic, hemmed in venue, with the crowd breathing down the players' necks. I can't imagine how the new place will in any way replicate that, so it's going to be a huge leap for the players.

Watched the rugby World Cup there. Was not impressed. We were in fairly decent seats and felt quite remote from the action on the pitch. Where the seating at each end moves across the track there is a huge void between the lower and upper tiers. The concourse was pretty bland and basic but to be fair the redevelopment work may not have been complete. Post game it's the mother of all queues to get into the station. Policing that for a London derby will be interesting!

Yeah, I was aware there was some element of that. This image illustrates it a little better. Looks OK in this. Though I'm not quite sure what that is covering the gaps between the top and bottom tiers.
Big stadium that will be better than we all expect, lots of bums on seats when doing well, no lingering bill for infrastructure, paid almost fxxk all for it. You can see why Arsenal are pixxed off!

It may turn out to be a better football stadium than we expect. But the deal by which West Ham secured it smells a bit fishy to me.
They don't even have to pay for all the match day staffing, much of which will be provided by the stadium company, all included in their suspiciously low rent.

because they were desperate for a tenant so it didnt sit unused like so many Olympic white elephants.
Tottenham were interested too, and WH would have paid a lot more.

Tottenham feigned interest to ensure they got planning for their White Hart project, they were never serious. West Ham were erring too, they wouldnt pay more otherwise they would have paid more. at one point it did look like they were going to turn it down, and the stadium owners were talking up the great opportunity for an extra atheltics meet and a motor race event to be hosted there once a year. Yeah!

Manchester City pay about £3m a year in rent to the local council for the Etihad after it was converted following the Commonwealth Games. It'll be interesting to see what the jazzmag barons have negotiated with LLDC for the Olympic Stadium.
