Right here, right now
Forster is our top scorer, he DESERVES it. Without those goals, we would be going into the last 3 games, still with relegation in the back of our minds....
He does not deserve anything due to the fact that he tried to hold the club to ransom over a new contract. He lost a lot of credibility and a lot of fans when he did that.

I think PotS should be between Crofts and El-Abd but would think El-Abd just about shades it. Both players have shown an attitude Forster could have done with having.

Bennet or Kebab should get it i think, but i think Calderon WILL get it, he's been brilliant but i feel it should be given to one of the players who started the season here.

Calderon or Dicker.

Crofts has been quality the last five weeks or so but has gone missing/been a 6 out of 10 in far too many games for me earlier in the season. Also, as the MOST ADVANCED central midfielder (if people are going to kick up a fuss about use of the word "attacking") for 80% of the season, doesn't really create much/score much.

Crofts for me for all round consistency, appears to give his all and can pop up in front of goal and knock one in.

El Abd should run him close and is 100% most improved player

I think should be Al Abd due to the way he seems to have turned things around at the club (take note Cox etc) he seemed on his way out of club as kept making mistakes that led to goals but he has seemed very solid this year and is happy to put a performance in whatever position Poyet requires.
Personally i think that Poyet properly names Al abd very early on team sheet, i used to be a doubter of Al Abd but i have changed my mind, so this deserves player of year award in my mind.
The only other one i was thinking was Crofts or maybe Navarro for work they put in, i dont think we can count Brezanan or Calderon as havent been at the club long enough for this award, if would have been from start of year i think be no doubt Calderon.

Anyone voting Calderon etc should remember it is player of the season, not player of the last couple of months.

Crock of shit. Player of the season should be the player who has been the most important this season. A bit like MOM being the most important player in that match, if someone comes on with 20 mins to go with their team 2-0 down and they score a hatrick in a 3-2 win are you telling me they shouldn't get MOM?

The fact we were dogshit and conceding goals left, right and centre before he came is not important to you then?

From a player who i thought was total gash and couldnt give a toss , Navvaro has turned out to be something of a revalation to my mind, im pretty sure he will not get a mention but if there was a prize for most improved player he would get it imo.

I also think Calderon will get it as the flair obsession on here is veering out of control......, ole!

However, IMHO Crofts should as he's been the captain throughout all the difficult early Gus months when all and sundry were questioning the appointment and we really needed some solidity in the engine room holding it together and leading by example.
That's more than enough cliche's but I think the point is made, not to mention he's the first non-loanee Albion player to get picked for a national squad and actually play for his country in a while (I think)....

Oh no - not this tired old chestnut again...

crofts - thought he was shit at the start, but since poyet came in he has been superb. leads the team, pops up with important goals and in my opinion is our best midfielder

Oooh, so angry.

Anyway, never mind that. Wouldn't you say that, once Poyet took over, someone like, say, Alan Navarro has been almost having a new player (he was certainly not the player we know now before Poyet came in) - or are you giving the credit solely to Calderon?

I agree with you Navvo for me.

Calderon for me. I think the arrival of both he and Painter marked a turning point for the season. I really don't think anyone would want to take credit for the first half of the season. Good to see that there is more than one outstanding candidate this year.

I agree with you Navvo for me.

As I said earlier, I would actually vote Crofts.

If I had to vote for Nos. 2 & 3 (which in the proper one, I don't), I'd got for El-Abd second and Dicker third.

It's not as though I don't rate Navarro - I do, very highly. It's just that he only really came good after Poyet arrived. Those other three (Crofts, El-Abd, Dicker) were playing well - usually - before he came.
