Since Gus took over,
1st Navarro

Should be: Crofts, the only positive amongst a first half of the
season that was utter turd.

Will be: Calderon, because people are easily seduced by flair. Good though he's been, it's player of the season & Crofts can hold his head high for the whole period.

1st: Crofts, been consistantly good all year
2nd: Bennett, apart from a few games where he has been quiet had a very good first year.
3rd: Dicker, since Slade finally brought him in in September he has been great. If he hadn't had a few poor displays playing wide left at the start of Gus's reign he would be higher up.

El-Abd has been our most improved player, but thats because at the start of the year most people didn't think he was worth a spot in the squad. He has had a reasonably good season but i don't think he has been as good or consistant as Elphick since Gus has been here and prior to Gus they were both playing pants.

Murray is also worth a mention as he has plodded through the season and done a reasonably good job as our lone striker

Bennett should get it in my opinion. Fair enough he's had a couple of very quiet games but he is consistent for a winger of his age and always works his bollocks off, one of the most exciting young players we've had here in a long time.

Crofts and elabd would be my other two votes but undecided in which order.

Calderon by a country mile.

I think it is a bit closer than that. You can almost say Painter has done what Calderon has,i know with a different style of football.
Very close call, but i have gone for Crofts just ahead of Dicker and Calderon.

Interesting to see that Glenn Murray only gets 1% of the vote. Quite poor given the billing he seems to get on here.

Do you not think these polls are ridiculously time sensitive though? Murray had a very poor game the other day.

Whereas, post this poll the day after the Wycombe 5-2 game, I wonder how many votes Murray would've had for player of the first half of the season...

I think Crofts or El-abd deserve it, with Calderon and Painter having special mentions as they have been so crucial to our post-Xmas revival

Calderon , the FLAIR player for half a season. It should be Croftsy but he'll lose out when the votes are cast.

Oooh, so angry.

Anyway, never mind that. Wouldn't you say that, once Poyet took over, someone like, say, Alan Navarro has been almost having a new player (he was certainly not the player we know now before Poyet came in) - or are you giving the credit solely to Calderon?

Alright treacle calm down!

Unfortunately I don't get to any Saturday games nowadays due to work commitments so I'm not going to claim my decision is gospel on any poll such as this.

I am not insisting that it should be Calderon, I was simply stating that for Richie to say that people should dismiss an option like him just because he's not ben here the whole season is pathetic. I agree with someone else, it could easily be Painter, someone posted our results stats since he's been here and from that he's bar far our most important player. To say you can't vote for him if you want to is a joke

Bennett for me. 7 goals and 12 assists in 44 games.

Calderon (20 games), Crofts (47 games), El-Abd (36 games), Dicker (first half of the season) and Navarro (second half) get honourable mentions.

I've come back home.
i think Calderón will get player of the season, he will also get the old junior seagulls award thingy as the kids just love him.

Crofts and Bennet deserve a mention in dispatches for their efforts over the whole season. but one man, who i thought was dead and buried as a player for this club, who has shown marvelous metal to become a regular under Gus and is now, i think, a key player and deserves recognition for his contribution is Adam El Adb.:clap2: oh and he has put a few in this season.
