Don't think CH is daft enough to want to work for that cocksucker Mike Ashley again.

1. CH is quite a proud man and as such I doubt he would work for Ashley again. Not just because he was sacked by him but because things were not always pleasant for him there. Ashley had Pardew lined up as Manager at the start of the first season back in the Premiership and he probably thought the team would struggle and he would have cause to sack Chris early in the season. When the bad start didn't materialise they made life difficult and hoped he would resign. When that didn't happen, they sacked him anyway, so why on earth would he ever want to work for him again?

I think he will keep his job because if the fans don't like him. Ashley will keep him just to let everyone know, he owns the club and not them. He doesn't care enough. He did at the start when he first bought the club but once the fans turned against him he in his own petulant way turned against them.

CH is on to a good thing here. He clearly has a good relationship with the club from top to bottom. He is no Poyet, he is a gentleman, he'll be staying a while.

Agreed. CH can achieve things here he could never with either of the North Easts perennial failures. I mean that in personal terms, he has scope here that would never be afforded him at either Newcastle or Sunderland. They are obviously bigger clubs but in terms of scope to grow Brighton offer more achievable goals.

I am obviously biased, but right.

Agree and he seems so ego free that you really want him to succeed. I tell people that I have never heard anyone in football have a bad word to say about him. Lets hope good guys do come first.

I have read posts on NSC recently with us at the top of the league suggesting that he is not the right man for us.

I was hoping we would get CH from the day Garcia left because he is a proper sensible English manager with knowledge of the game in this league and the Prem.
I was delighted when he did finally come last Christmas and had confidence he was the right man even when we struggled last year.
He seems to be enjoying working here, has a good relationship with TB, a nice pad in Hove and his team are top of the league.
His dignified response to Shoreham struck me also as coming from someone who is settled and at home in the area.

BUT never ever overlook the lure of the premiershite chequebook and promises of instant glory. What if Brendan Rodgers gets the heave ho? Where would CH be in the betting?

It's not only your best players you have to hang on to when you're top o the league

The only team that CH will manage in the Premier League anytime soon is little old Brighton & Hove Albion. Others can offer what they like - it would be a major surprise if he left. Never say never of course, but I think it highly unlikely.

CH had 3 job offers during that 10 months out that I know of . Two Championship clubs and one International job. Several others also contacted his Agent and invited him to apply but he didn't, so he wasn't exactly short of offers during that time he wasn't working but he knew the next job he took after Norwich a to be the right job where he knew he had a good chance to succeed.

I did say he didn't have any 'better' offers, not that he didn't have any offers. Championship interest and maybe an international side is what I'd probably expect. I just don't think he'll be on any PL clubs radar for a while - which is clearly great for us.

First club to come in for Hughton will be Derby.
Hopefully they learnt their lesson that they can't just walk in and take our assets, when they wanted Stephens.

I'm sure the ex Real Madrid training cone arranger will be with them a few more weeks anyway.

I am sure they will stick with him for a while, but along with Leeds and Sheff Wednesday, they are so full of there own self importance that they will sack Clement and come in for CH .

I'm convinced Hughton will go nowhere else unless offered one of those 'once in a lifetime' opportunities - which, although he is a great manager, his existing PL CV suggests he wouldn't get offerred yet anyway.
