Yep what a tosser. What’s the point. Just for his socials I guess to show how hard he is?

Lot of talk of Roma fans doing stuff wrong but our fans:

- burnt a scarf in a confined area
- constantly goaded Roma fans to our right who appeared mostly to be families
- threw drinks over at the Roma section that appeared to mostly be Roma fans
- sung songs about Lazio and that ridiculous your city is blue chant

Great though our fan base is we do have some real knobs in it after a few beers.
100% agreed, we have some absolute ****s who follow the Albion. Group in front of us spent most of the game goading, from a distance, the Roma fans to our left. Gradually they all moved closer to the line of stewards to be even more hard. When the third goal went in one of them, a grade a **** the entire game, lobbed his virtually full pint of lager straight down into our fans below.

I wondered what happened to that half and half scarf. One of the mobile beer sellers was trying to flog it with the wrong date on it after we'd been beaten 4-0. Someone nicked it out of his basket after no one bought it and luzzed it. Someone else promptly disappeared up the steps with it and I never saw it again.

2 minutes later I heard a load of shouting (couldn't see a thing as I was back of the crowd on the stairwell) which I presume was the ceremonial burning.

Totally agree, we need to get away from this simplistic angels and devils approach when we compare ourselves to other clubs. Of course Roma have their share of numpties like every club but in the context of Italian football where so many clubs are infested with gang criminality, they have far, far less of that than their country peers. The only danger I was in on Thursday was being hit by something thrown within the Brighton end, a fate that instead happened to a poor bloke just along from me who got the backwash of a hurled full pint

Our fans were no angels for sure. I saw people pissing in bins. There was very nearly a full on fight on my bus when leaving the ground. I also witnessed one guy trying to smash the overhead screen in the bus which would have resulted in a shower of glass over Brighton fans.

I guess being treated like animals makes some people act like animals.

Covers all sorts as well.

Got on a bus afterwards and saw someone I know who’s a bit of a nutcase on it behaving perfectly before three middle aged, middle class fans forced their way on where there was space for maybe one. One of them then went on to give us a jovial running commentary. Possibly the only reason he didn’t get chinned was that he’d made it so no one could raise their arms.

Was this a half and half scarf? If so I’m all for it 🤣
I've always said they should be burned. Just maybe not on a stairwell where no one can move due to the volume of people. Bloke's clearly had a brain fart but grassing to Barber and banning him? Really?

I have to say the act of burning the scarf was quite disgraceful. I think the supporters should be prosecuted and banned.

But having heard that it was a half and half scarf, I'd like to take all that back.

I think I've seen a picture of the burning at some point, and it was a Roma scarf, and I think I know where it probably came from...

After the game, when the Roma fans to our left had largely finished taking the piss, largely in a highly-sexualised homo-erotic manner, one of the remaining ones wanted to engage in a scarf swap with an Albion fan. After much "can we swap scarves?" gesturing, the Roma fan lobbed over his scarf and the Albion fan threw over his, which I think was a black club-issued Europa League special.

The Roma fan took the Albion scarf and gave a few thumbs up by way of thanks.

Shortly after this, the Roma scarf was lobbed back in the direction of the Roma fans, but didn't make it over the dividing screen. From what I recall, a steward picked it up and gave it to an Albion fan.

I reckon it might have been that scarf.

What if it hadn't had ended quite like it did, would you still be against dobbing him in? There were kids around, pensioners etc. Many then tried to get back to the seats because of the crush.

Don’t like to disagree with you boss, but 100% it was a half and half scarf that was burned on the steps leading down to the (urine covered) concourse. People close by me wondered if the fire starter knew he was burning the Albion half, just before the wan*** chanted started.

Fair enough.

It may have been the same exchanged scarf - that would explain why someone tried to lob it back again. I only clocked the Roma-coloured part of it.
