Paul Clark, Jimmy Case and Hans Kraay for me. And the winner is....
'The Tank' Paul Clark. He looked the part, square with massive legs. And he NEVER shirked the challenge.

Nobby Horton , always won all the 50/50 balls and his crunching tackles would be an instant red card nowadays.

Anyone remember that loanee we had in one of the early seasons at Withdean Martin Thomas. If my memory is correct, I think he came off the bench and managed to injure 2 players in one tackle with practically his first involvement. I hope I'm not completely imagining that as it's a good story!

How about Mike Small ? A foul or even a percieved foul on any Albion player was met with instant retribution by Mr Small

Steve Jacobs was made of tough stuff, while Doug Rougvie managed to earn the nickname "The Thug" from the Chelsea fans in the days of Chelsea fans being seriously nasty, but ...... it's Jimmy Case for me. No-one would mess with Jimmy.

Always remember Steve Jacobs getting sent off at Oxford for landing a series of good blows on John Aldridge the night we won the Oxfordshire Benevolend Cup.
