In the same vein, there are a couple of pictures of that game here

Huge thank you to you and Mileoakman ! This has really opened my eyes and says I have very little memory of the day.. firstly, I though Tranmere scored 1st, and secondly, their scorer was injured in the process. None of that may be true, because the biggest wake up call for me was that I had no recollection at all that we were playing in all-white that day! Never thought I had seen that kit "live"! I was only 5 (6th birthday the next day!) so I will forgive myself. I have even had to check that this was my first game, and it definitely was! I got a season ticket the next season and my programme collection started then!

My first match was at home to Shrewsbury Town in November 83, but I have no idea who scored.

Terry Connor with a header in the South Stand goal

there's a pretty good photo of it in the Cardiff programme of that season

Nigel Pearson played for Shrewsbury that day

Ricky Marlowe...albion vs Palace ...first game when we moved down here in 1975 ish.

Didn’t know anything about Brighton and had heard of Palace, so was supporting them from the north west corner.

Went the next game and stood with my brother on the chicken run. And we were hooked! ( he gave up on Brighton after an incident at one of the Huddersfield games in the north stand at the Amex) I persuaded the senior steward to let him go and sit in the away section with Town fans. He hasn’t seen Brighton since and is a ST holder, travelling up to Huddersfield every home game for the last few years. Costs him, but he enjoys it. Daft thing is he left Huddersfield when he was 5/months old! Yes he has more of an affinity with Huddersfield that I do and I left when I was 6

Cheers! I should've guessed it was Terry.

I remember big Steve Ogrizovic playing for the Shrews in that game too.

it was in a 2-2 draw with Torquay in 1996. I'm fairly sure it was Iain Baird but may be wrong

I was quite late to the party. 21st Feb 2004 a fresh faced 15 year old PRS watched BHAFC 3-0 Bournemouth at Withdean.

The legend that is Gary Hart getting the first goal

Trevor Benjamin and Leon Knight also scoring

Haven't a clue
Started watching around 1984
Although I was hooked first few games were drab affairs so probably wasn't until about the 3rd game that I witnessed a Brighton player hitting the onion bag
Who that was will remain a mystery

You would have seen the Bobby Smith era and a big Chelsea cup game if i`m right . My first game was against Oldham Athletic which was 6-0 which i wrongly posted on another thread as being Bury . I actually thought for years it was a team called Barrow until i looked it up .I think it was Kit Napier but can`t find the info , i think he scored 2 goals .

For me it was Eddie Spearritt, in our FA Cup round one TROUNCING of the mighty Hillingdon Borough 7-1 at the Goldstone, 20th Nov 1971. I was four and a half at the time, and a scoreline like that was somewhat impressive for a little 'un like I was then. At that tender age, of course, I expected the same every match, an expectation that has been reset over the years! :lolol:

I believe it was "Magic" Peter Ward who started the comeback against Millwall in Aug. '77. The other Albion scorers that day were Steve Piper and an own goal by Kitchener. I'm not sure of the order, and I couldn't find a detailed match report on-line. I know we went 2 down.

Thanks for that .I am going to be a bit dumb and assume it was Flood first scorer . There was a football special bus that went to the estates around Brighton and my mates and i were allowed to go on our own to the game . I think it was something like 9 pence to get in for kids, which was of course old money to get in the Chicken Run .I would love to know what the prices were .
