maybe your 1st game was on one of those rare occasions we didn't score

October 71 v Port Vale. A certain Nobby Horton was playing for the Vale, I recently discovered. 2 Albion legends for the price of one!

Bradford away late 80's (Simod cup I believe ) Garry Nelson. I think Paul Jewell scored for them we lost .There were only about 50 Albion fans there. I was in the City end with my school chum who was a City fan

Of course it was really Ward for England under-21s a week or so before

That u21 game was also my first ever game. I then asked my father to take me to see a Brighton game and my first game was v Bolton on October 8th 1977. We lost 2-1. I lost interest for a few years when I was 16-19 but otherwise I have been reasonably regular and a season ticket holder for pretty much every season since.

I cannot recall who scored against Bolton, and Google isn’t helping.

Ah yes - the Easter match v Reading. Pre Health & Safety days: me and my dad were allowed to stand on the St Johns ambulance hut in the north west corner to watch the match.

Saw those games. Alan Duffy was great for .. er .. two or three games. Looked to be the messiah.

that point moved us up to 18th in the league

very respectable gate,considering


3 weeks prior to this game,we played Rochdale on a Sunday with a bumper gate of 18,900!

Can't remember if it was my first Albion game (I was in the north stand), but the one I remember vividly was Dean Wilkins curler into top corner against Palace in our 3:1 win (I think). Sometime in the '80s.

Anyone know the date of this game?

I`not able to find D Wilkins scoring against Palace .Dec 26 1988 we won 3-1 ,K Bremner ,G Chivers ,G Nelson . April 21 1984 3-1 .A Young T Conner E Young . Albion 3-0 Hull City Feb 12 1994 D.Wilkins K.Nogan R.Codner . Feb 20 1991 Albion 3-0 Leicester M.Small D.Wilkins B.wade . There is one rarity i noticed .Sep 15 1990 Albion 3-2 Charlton M.Small R.Codner D.Wilkins .Four days later Sep 19 1990 .Albion 3-2 Portsmouth. exactly the same scorers in the same order .M.Small R.Codner D.Wilkins !
