Is this an attempt to get down with the kids?

I'm gonna answer in Richie Morris style:
The Editors or the Ordinary Boys, whichever one's album i listened to last

I may be 43 but I have every Eminem album and blast it out, he is a brilliant writer , poet and music maker and is head and shoulders the best artist of the last 10 years imho.

I would agree with Eminem. He turned himself into a brand in rapping, a predominately black industry. Fair play to him:clap:

Yes a brand of crap, pretty bland rapping relying on the self-pity of teenagers who would normally buy Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park.
There are hundreds of better hip-hop artists of the last ten years , of the top of my head: Kanye, Common, Gangstarr, Ugly Duckling

When I'm gone is a superlative piece of music and song writing, one of his very best and a fine way to hang up the mic.

I wouldn't class Eminem as one of the best, sorry but homophobia doesn't really do it for me in musical greatness terms, despite him getting all pally with Sir Elton.

If we are talking British greats then I think you have to look at artists who have either evolved or endured during the last decade, for me it has to include the likes of Oasis (love or loathe the unibrow brothers), Damon Albarn and possibly Paul Weller.

I am not keen on his music. I don't like rapping, but I would say he is one of the greatest artists in the last ten years, as in succesful.

In no way is he a musician, IMHO. A not unamusing poet with dodgy views and hero to chavs everywhere maybe - I listened to an album of his stuff once, it made me laugh but felt no need to listen to it again.
