Close call between the illegitimate one and Adams first time round. I'll go for Adams, one championship, laying the foundations for a second, and of course some gems of signings.

Abort, retry, fail
Obviously Micky Adams's first spell, 2 championships. And FLAIR football toward the end of the first season here, not to mention the 6-0 against Mansfield.

Adams only won ONE championship. I don't remember football being total football/flair. We were quite a well organised side with some sluggers and a Premiership striker who added some spice to the proceedings.

For me...

Coppell

McGhee

D minus, you need to brush up on your history.

I always liked Mcghee although I'd imagine if you speak to players they'd probably say Coppell.

Coppell. The team he assembled in 2002-03 was arguably the strongest of the whole Withdean era, shame he didn't have enough games to make up for Hinsh's mess.

Adams if only for making us believe we were actually a proper football club again.

Not quite sure why everyone sings the praises of Coppell so much. Yes, he is a good manager but he didn't save and the arguement that he didn't have enough games is crap. We went down because we only got 10pts out of the last 27 avaialable. Two wins in the last nine games.

He was ex palace.
He didn't save us.
He jumped ship at the first opportunity.

I would say the best manager we have had is McGhee because he got us promoted after relegation and kept us in the Championship for two years.

err just the 1 championship under Adams (1):hammer: he left in October 2001 and Taylor win the second championship 7 months later

Can someone tell me what Coppell achieved please? I accept he has done well elsewhere but what did he actually achieve for us which is surely the point of the poll?

Turned a nailed on relegation after 10 games, into a last day "hereford" scenario

but ultimately failed and took us down!

Micky Adams - Part 1

then followed by

Agent Coppell

- what a shame Adams squandered his hard-won reputation during Part 2...

Mark McGhee, purely on the basis that he kept us in the Championship with less resources than Coppell was given. Coppell is a fine manager but remember he did have us out of the relegation zone with about 5 games to go but couldn't stop us slipping back and we ended up losing games against teams around us, hence got relegated, so I reckon MM did the better job even if he did have 12 more games than Coppell at Championship level.

I'd be thrilled to have either of them right now
