He doesn't have enough on his CV (Southgate did at least have an entire career playing at the top level plus 57 caps), and has less charisma than a carrot. And he's far too thin-skinned for the job, it wouldn't be long before he'd be trotting olut his "history lesson" quote.

Nailed on it will be Potter. Its exactly the sort of appointment that fits the FAs zero imagination- he’s English, presented an evolved playing style with Brighton after criticisms of being a largely negative defensive team under Hughton, and even has the same charisma as Southgate.

Klopp would be obviously a better choice, but I think the chances of it happening are small. Howe won’t be leaving Saudicastle any time soon.

Let's be honest, international football is 70% VIBES and 30% tactics. You aren't TRAINING these players. You are getting them into a shape and mentality and inspiring them. He would just be perfect.

A manager who could embrace the "go out and play" mentality that the players we have need. Be honest, Bellingham, Foden, Palmer, Mainoo, Saka, Gordon.....they are all STREET footballers. Get a manager in who just relaxes it all and says "go have fun".

In the past we have needed a strict system because we haven't had the players. This time we basically have a midfield of BALLERS.

So wide of the mark, Potter can pick his own squad and not have it picked for him, he will pick the right personalities and balance, he is a winner and has had enough time to reflect on Chelsea.
He also knows what pressure is like. Maybe some are still just vindictive about him, he didn't hurt us at all, he just improved us by a country mile compared to the what Chris was capable of.

I admit I enjoyed his failure at Chelsea after they completely filleted us when he left, but I don't bear him any grudges now. I just don't believe he has the chops for a job this big, it would chew him up. He'd still be picking most if not all of our gilded superstars, he can't just pick a team of "nice blokes" now can he.

As for him being a winner - sorry, what has he won ?

I think you should leave the mushrooms alone, either that or you have subconsciously remembered how Iceland turned us over over, but that was in the 12 minute and Southgate still couldn't find a solution to win the match.
