Of course I didn’t trace any Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Normans, Celts or Romans, but history tells us, that being British makes us a mongrel race.

Actually, British DNA is one of the least ‘mongrel’ (as you put it). The Saxons, Vikings and Celts all originated from the Bell Beaker people, so all very similar genetically. Mainland Europe has had far more DNA from somewhere else than Britain has, this makes the British the most original European.

You can say every people or nation is a mongrel one, bit weird for you to single out one though. Up until recently, British DNA had been changed very little for about 1,600 years.
