Who do we want behind Forster/Murray

Looks like we have an exciting partnership up front - perhaps the best for a very long time. But who would be the four men behind them in midfield?

Based on the reports about Thomson today, he's on the sheet first, but based on our squad and assuming everyone is available, who are the other three?

before my 'puter turns into a pumpkin

Cox, Thomson, Fraser, Robinson.

But if Reid gets back to how he was last season before injury, then Reid over Fraser.

Goodnight.

I don't understand why Robinson is so under rated at right wing!!
He made the difference against Orient and when I've seen him play he has the spark and pace of a winger.
Left mid needs sorting cox in the middle I would like to see.
Reid has been good so for me
Cox, Thompson, Reid if fit, Robinson.

Problem is that Robinson can totally disappear from a game for very long periods or has days when his touch deserts him. Better coming on from the bench and influencing games that way for me.

Probably one player shy of a tidy midfield if everyone's fit.

No mention of Martot in this thread so far??

I was very susprised that Martot has chosen to stay to be honest. Can only imagine he has no chance of 1st team football at Le Havre.

Personally I don't rate him. But in fairness, I noticed something from a different view point whilst sitting in the North stand for a couple of JPT games ( we're usually in family stand ).

He kept getting into half decent positions and screaming his head off for the ball, only to be totally ignored. I seem to remember someone mentioning this same point on the fans phone in too.

It seems to me that he doesn't fit in well with the team on a personal level. Not sure whether language is still a barrier ?

He doesn't seem to have a lot to offer for me, being very mediocre in all departments. I'd even put El -Abd in the middle over Martot, 'cos at least Adam gets stuck right in ; even if he doesn't have a very good touch.

But the Orient game shows why he shouldn't start. I agree he was great that day and changed the game but that was coming off the bench. He rarely plays as well when he starts a game and generally I would rather start with Martot and then bring Robinson on for the last half hour. I think that Martot is underrated and quite effective on the wing whereas playing Cox and Robinson leaves us too lightweight.

My four would be: Martot Reid/Fraser (undecided) Thomson Cox

I agree, he did do rather well today.

But we were playing against a side with a non existant midfield.

Against some of the better teams in this league I feel he would struggle.

Such a shame we missed out on Leven

Crewe and their non existant midfield? - isn't that a comment that has been made about us since more or less we returned to Withdean, finally we dominate a team in this area, and what happens, people on here decide to belittle their efforts, ffs

A great performance by the team, yet it seems some have a trouble admitting that, and would rather blame a poor opposition instead of us playing well.

Cox, Thompson, El-Abd (if not needed in defence, then it would be a difficult choice between Fraser and Reid, so the one in better form) Robinson.

Robinson is one of the few players who actually can run and go past players with the ball, giving us an alternative way of attacking,

Eugen Bopp or Leven would be nice.

As I understand, we can sign both at the end of the season on frees. Not 100% though.
