They are the arbiters of good taste and the correct use of language. They've always been with us but they've had a number of names over the years. They used to be called the Mary Whitehouse brigade. or the Moral Majority. Or if you go further back - Puritans.

They are not to be confused with the Green Ink brigade who write letters (and indeed leader columns) for the Daily Mail.

One could go far enough as to say that this is actually racism against white players, by saying to some of them they can't be included, not because of footballing ability but because they are not black.

Spot on. Just including black players for the sake of it it silly! They are their for ability only! You can't get into the realms of positive discrimination.

I can't believe we live in a world where you can't call a brainstorm a brainstrom because it offends people with epilepsy! They have to be called 'thought showers' or summin bollox.

I actually read the article in the Gaurdian campaigning to call Asylum seekers refugees. Why does the left think that if manipulates language enough problems will go away?

Did you really? How interesting.

I was right about you being a Gaurdian reading twat wasn't I?
No. I read The Times. I think the twat you refer to is in fact yourself, as you demonstrated above.

I should have said Immigration above not Immigrants, bad spelling day. :(

Any social service workers.

True but in a spurrious kind of way. Politically Correctness policies are now being instituted by the left at every oppertunity especially in their powerbase the public sector.

For example.

Net job creation last year was about 250,000 all public sector jobs(This is a problem in itself but thats a different topic), of which 75% went to women. This can be seen as favouring certain favoured PC groups especially as over 80% of the registered unemployed are men. Dont know the figures for Race and sexuality but I'd guess they are skewed as well.

Leftwing dogma wins over common sense.

Voila, Political Correctness!

The moral majority-People who are Socially Non left.

They are middle class people, typically in civial service jobs and typically white and 99% socialist. They believe that if you padder to a minority, that will make everything better in the world - they are effectivly on a massive guilt trip about their relative wealth and status.

They are the people who think its a positive thing to have all women/minority shortlists. They believe that by not having Union Flags on public buildings immigrants and non-nationals wont be affended and thus make all our lifes more fulfilling. They are the people that mandate a company put in disabled access, then fine them when they cant due to planning regulations.

They are the people who decided in the 60's that all are equal, even when its obvious to everyone else that we each have our differences. They imposed a state education system that aim to make the lowest achieve some moderate success, but in doing so lowered the bar for everyone else and thus f***ed up 2 or 3 generation of this once great country.

They are the ones who knock success in this country at every oppurtunity (unless of course from a minority)

Once again, I refer you to this noise and ask you to reconsider your view that I don't make any sense. Just in case anyone needed reminding, the original question was "Who are the PC Brigade?" , and this is Looney's brilliant "answer".

Genius.

I was wondering who'd pick up on that. The point is they ARE the same. They are people who want to impose their ideas and values on you and they do this by trying to apply a rigid system of censorship. Whether they call themselves Socialists, Conservatives or Concerned Liberals is irrelevant - the fact is they want to control your life. For the common good you understand.

Bloody Germans, eh? :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

PC is nothing but another word for manners, only a set of manners that you don't like. For example, telling Little Johnny not to swear in front of Granny. If you agree that it's important for Johnny to watch his mouth around Granny, you'd say it's manners, if you'd disagree with it, you'd say it's PC. Similarly, if you agree that it's important not to offend a particular given section of British society, you'd say it's manners. If you didn't, you'd say it's PC. The words manners and PC are synonyms.

Of course because Murdoch and his ilk dominate the ownership of the media in this country, it gives the likes of rightwing shitbags like Richard Littlejohn and Jeremy Clarkson every opportunity to shove their particular likes and dislikes on the subject of manners (PC) down our throats, so for them PC is anyone who strives for greater equality in British society.

No surprise, then, that a few people in this thread are shedding their inhibitions and becoming a walking Daily Mail editorial, nothing pushes the buttons of your poor threatened little white male like this buzz word "PC" - let it all hang out guys :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

That is utter drivel from start to finish. If what is perceived as 'PC' was as you've described, no-one would have a problem with it. But it isn't.

The starting point of this is clear - racism is despicable. After that it gets more complicated.

There is a certain trouble-making fraternity (incidentally, mainly characterised as being white, middle-class, left-wing, and with no black or Asian mates themselves) who are actually harming the goal of civil coexistence between people of different races and cultures with their lunacy.

The conservatives (and no I'm not) are often accused of playing the race card. But there are two 'race cards' in this country, and the one that is increasingly used is the one by the do-gooders for preventing any discussion of subjects that need to be resolved sensibly, like asylum policy.

Race crimes in my book are also committed by those who treat black people as some sort of charity case and in need of special treatment. Treat them the same as anyone else, and that includes having the odd joke at their expense.

My current example of 'PC gone mad' is this new law proposed that will stop comedians being able to lampoon religion. You can wave goodbye to ever seeing anything like the 'Life of Brian' again if that comes in.

And since we're on a roll, yes Voroshilov - you are, and always have been, very PC on here.

Yeah, Jeremy "i dislike the french, the americans and most the rest of the world" Clarkson is PC.

Your clearly talking about some old definition of PC - but the meanings of words and terms change.

Tooting Gull, I'll never understand in a million years why people like you feel so threatened, in fact, terrified, by a little bit of positive discrimination narrowing inequalities a little quicker than they might otherwise be narrowed. For example, the increase in the representation of women in Parliament through the Labour Party's use of all-women shortlists.

The only bit in your post you missed out on Tooting Gull was the reassurance that some of your best friends are black ;)

If that were true there would be no problem, I think everybody would describe themselves as 'PC'. I don't think there is a single person on here who thinks that '******' and 'paki' are acceptable terms. The problem is certain people (not everyone by all means) have taken the idea to extremes and all aspects of our language and culture must be sanitised just in case it might give offence. I'm sure you're well aware of this and even you must wince at times - unless you are a complete control freak.

thats right LI, lets increase in the representation of women in Parliament through all-women shortlists. That addresses the real issues of why women arnt equally represented in all walks of life. Let do the same with other minority shortlists. The dozens of new Black and Asian MPs will be happy to know they got there due to thier colour and not on ability.

positive discrimination only serves to perpetuate the differences and hostility between those that are different.
