The Grockle
Formally Croydon Seagull
I wish I had something better to do with my Sunday than join this cock measuring crap but sadly I don't so FWIW my ranking and reasonings would be as follows;
#1 Southampton.
Fa cup winners in 76, have spent the most consecutive seasons in the top flight and have had the higher attendances over the last 20 odd years.
#2 Portsmouth.
Champions of England twice, Fa Cup winners Twice, highest record attendance of the three. I'd possibly put Pompey above Saints but most of their success was donkey's years ago, they had their chance to cement their place as South coast number one but IMO are set for a big period of decline, we'll be above them in the coming years I reckon.
#3 Brighton.
With the exception of the previous 20 years historically very well supported in the lower leagues yet only achieved four years of top flight football in our 110 year history, one major honour in 1910 and beaten FA Cup finalists on one occasion.
#4 Bournemouth.
With the greatest of respect to them, when talking about size and honours they don't come close to any of us. Case closed.
