That UFC nonsense where it seems ok to knock someone down, jump on them while they are senseless and continue to batter them around the head.

I like MMA. If someone is deemed senseless, then the ref should stop the fight. There's less damage done in MMA than in boxing. In boxing, when someone is knocked out (or close to), they're given 10 seconds to recover so that they can get knocked out again. And again. And again. And there are short rounds so people can get damaged, half recover, and then get damaged again, until they have a serious brain injury. In MMA, the fight is stopped soon after they take the first serious damage.

Watched a fair amount, unwillingly, as it was popular at home. Loaded in favour of competitors who are immense at wrestling, holds, chokes or certain types of Ju Jitsu. Game over once they had hold.

Your simply pointing out that fighting itself is loaded in favour of people who can wrestle etc. That's the nature of the beast. I imagine you're more used to boxing, and then a bit surprised there's more to all out fighting that fat gloves.

That's not a sport, its a business...... I would happily dump it though for me Basketball. loads of tall weirdos bouncing a ball backwards and forwards for no apparent reason.
If you take it to that level of analysis, football is just a load of players running around kicking the ball around for no apparent reason (although in both cases the 'reason' is to score and ultimately win the game, no?).

I wouldn't ban any sport as they all exist because enough people like them or play them, even if I don't (sorry, I know that's not in the spirit of the thread, but... whatevs).

Is that the one with the weird dancing horses. I saw it in the Olympics. Yes, indeed WTF ?

Oh come on. They torture horses until they submit to man's will, proving that we're the best. What's not to like?

Paper Chase - horrific winter hell of freezing cold torrential rain cross country in knee deep mud for endless miles in stinking ill fitting kit out of the lost property bin because Drasher was not having any of your “I forgot my kit Sir” with his Vile Vindictive Victorian ‘Make a man of you’ snarling Viciousness.

Polo.
Ridiculous "sport" for privileged upper class twits!

Also anything connected to hunting.

I’ve had involvement on and off in kicking MA’s since 1982.

Wrestling amateur or pro bores me. Whist yanks love it. A macho badge of honour to say you were incredible at it at college eg Jim Jordan. Also huge in the Balkans and Caucasus.

I'm also not interested in wrestling alone, but it's an important part of MMA, but then so are many other disciplines.

Agreed on both fronts.

Horse racing does come under "sport" in the media, that's why I suggested it. It only exists for gambling though, so it's more like a casino.

Basketball would be second on my list too.
Basketball is about 200 times better than Formula TRAFFIC.

Absolute shite that is. And sports wash central. They binned off races at the birth of motor racing (France) so they can crow-bar in races in China and Saudi. Says it all.
