I hadn’t heard that before but as good as it is, for me this will always be the definitive version, from the songwriter Sandy Denny with Fairport Convention

I've always liked these 2 the most out of the numerous artists that have covered the song, heard the Fairport Convention version many years before the Nina Simone one and i'd grown a little tired of it in some ways, so to find the Nina Simone version just added another dimension to a superb song.

I'd bought Crime of the Century about 5 months before my Dad died in Jan 1975, and this song really matched my emotions at the time. It encompasses everything that I love about Supertramp, and is one of Roger Hodgson's most beautiful compositions.
