Paul Haylock, ex-Norwich is my late step-father's son-in-law, so I've met him a few times. He was still moaning about Jimmy Case from the quarter-final in '83 years later.

I've also played cricket against the then Southampton player Trevor Hebberd (and caught him in the slips).

A few years back met the Spurs Norwegian goalie (whose name I've completely forgotten) at some book launch held at Spurs. What was more memorable was that Keith Floyd was there, pissed out of his head at 8.00 in the morning.

Ewan Roberts - LEGEND - met him at the Swansea game this year when he was commentating in Welsh for BBC Wales.

Met quite a few managers who come over for interviews etc.

I met most of the Leeds squad from the 70's and early 80's as my Gran lived in Mirfield, Trevor Cherry and Peter Lorimer lived up the road and Cherry's family helped my gran out with shopping etc..

I haven't 'met' any Leeds footballers but spoken to a few of them and from Sheff Wed in regard to their electricity bills. Gary Speed was very polite.

I was sat next to Peter Osgood in hospitality, at a Saints game last season, about 3 weeks before he died. Top bloke. Had loads to say about Rupert Lowe, and fairly forthright views on the abilities of Didier Drogba.

What he said to us at the table, differed fairly spectacularly to what he had to say when he got up and did his little speech to the room.

Trevor Brooking - came to Falmer School when I was there because he was doing something at the university. Had a little coaching session with him and got some photos and an autograph.

David James - met him outside Selhurst Park when I went to watch Wimbledon v Liverpool with my uncle (Liverpool fan), shook his hand and got a photo.

Mark McGhee - Woodingdean tesco express, stopped him while he was filling up and had a conversation before getting an autograph and photo haha!

Steve Lomas - At a Rifles gig in Camden, didn't say too much but he has good music taste obviously ha

Tony Cottee - Before a West Ham game I went to with my dad and brother (West Ham fans) nice bloke!

Matt Le Tissier stayed in our hotel, with his family, when we stayed in the Algarve a few years back.

Thoroughly nice down-to-earth chap. Not pretentious in any way.

Collina was on a flight back from Italy with me, just after he retired - Lil' coach was most suprised to see him walking off just in front of me at the airport.
Know it's a ref. but I haven't met any non-brighton players. I just ignore them! :lolol:

Nearly got in to a jacuzzi with Ian wright, Kevin Campbell and David Rocastle (RIP) but felt a bit intimidated so decided to have a swim instead, then realised the entire Arsenal football team of approx 1991 was staying at same hotel as I was at on a work training course.

So had the pleasure of meeting, Seaman, Dixon, Merson, Ian Wright. Adams etc plus Gearge Graham in the bar/snooker room over the next couple of evenings.

Merson lived up to his reputation at the time and glasses were thrown/fire extinguishers let off.

There were dubious toilet/snooker table incidents with some of my colleagues that were never fully explained!

Also met Jimmy Greaves.
