I think this is a daft thread.

But J. J. Cale’s name is John.

There aren’t enough Duanes, but Allman of that name takes some beating....... in my view.

But was called JJ to stop him being confused with John Cale

Something occurs to me. Since the 1940s, the most common name for a bloke, for the longest amount of time, may well have been..... John.

One obvious omission:

Thanks. I thought it was a bit of a silly thread so didn't read it all, but in time-honoured tradition did not consider this an impediment to spouting off.
