This thread appears to have gone down the "name someone who plays the guitar who happens to share the same name with someone else who also plays the guitar" route.

Brighton factually.....
Yeah I know, and I thought about it, but he does write music, and some of those awesome songs are going to have originated from his hand. Plus he does often whip out his axe on stage, so I'm still claiming it, although you're probably right, not one of the most outstanding players, but has certainly played his part.

Here's something that you would never have guessed, and may shock you, Christmas dinner at his house in New Orleans a few years ago listening to....
The Smiths, big fan apparently.

N. Yorkshire
P.Paul.Fenech... (The Meteors pic below)
Paul Burlinson... (from the Johnny Burnette Trio, apparently his style inspired Paul Mccartney but hes full of shit)

I like this photo, he looks innocent, angelic and lost in the music and then there is the chicken blood.

Despite what most on here would think on here, he is a very talented guitar player, mad as frogs on crack though.

I think this is a daft thread.

But J. J. Cale’s name is John.

There aren’t enough Duanes, but Allman of that name takes some beating....... in my view.

I think a couple of Stevens/Stephens/Steves were already mentioned, but:

Steve Cropper
Stephen Stills
Steve Miller
Steve Hillage
Steve Hackett
Steve Howe
Steve Morse
Steven Van Zandt
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Steve Lukather
Steve Jones
Steve Rothery
Steve Vai
Steve Albini

I'm sure there are others...
Bit of strange thread, but that happens during the international break I suppose.

Something occurs to me. Since the 1940s, the most common name for a bloke, for the longest amount of time, may well have been..... John.

One obvious omission:

Johnny Winter
