Here we go... the bi-monthly "accuse Australia of being racist" nonsense. Don't see a far-right party getting any coverage here I'm afraid - and today it was announced Pauline Hanson (the racist from the 80's) is moving to... wait for it... Britain. Ha - good luck with her!

Of course, the real answer is somewhere in Africa. Japan are a pretty racist bunch - you get bars & clubs where "No Aliens Allowed" signs are usual.

Africa is a difficult one.Considering vast majority of countries contain black people who have very little contact with white people.Plus the fact most 3rd world countries have very little education.

You really have to base this on a modern civilized country.

Aussie does have a reputation though. No smoke without fire.

You obviously have a primary school concept of what racism can entail.

I don't think it's just the third world nations who have had very little education...

Spot on. Pure white Aussies hate every colour. Every Aussie i've met has been the most racist.
Well you obvioulsy not met a broad enough spectrum of Aussies then - like every country there are lots of racists here but like most other places the non racists outweigh them and with each generation the balance is shifting more and more in the right direction.
I've lived here 15 years and have been racially vilified once only, just after I'd arrived.
I have to say the plight of the Indiginous Australians is an embarrassment and I'm at a loss as to why it's not a higher priority to sort out than it seems to be to this "outsider", but it doesn't make the whole country racist in the same way all the racists on this board don't make England racist - they are juts, IMHO, ignorant.
And let's not forget where white Australia came from....
I guess this thread was always going to draw a lot of sweeping statements...
I've found Japan quite racist having been there a lot, it's a quite subtle though unlike the in your face stuff you'd get elsewhere.

They are the biggest kuntz ever, what other country would allow a cheese called c##n to be still on sale
because it doesn't have the same meaning here - yes it's a bit of a shock to an Englishman when first seeing it but once you understand it's been around for almost 100 years (i.e. well before that foul euphamism came into being in ENGLAND) and appreciate it's history you might not feel so appalled, so here's a cheese lesson kids;

COON is the trademark of a Cheddar cheese produced by the Dairy Farmers company in Australia. It was first launched in 1935 by Fred Walker and is said to be named after its American creator Edward W. Coon of Philadelphia, who patented a method, subsequently known as the Cooning process, for fast maturation of cheese via high temperature and humidity. Former manufacturer Kraft, and later Dairy Farmers, have vigorously defended the trademark for this reason.

I read that about Hanson going to England today too and did have a titter, what a sad woman...

I do sometimes wonder how it's got that reputation. I can only conclude that a lot of British back-packers travel around & obviously meet people in the country where racist views are more prevalent - similar to the US. In the cities there are lots of different cultures, and I personally think Australia is much better at incorporating other cultures than the UK.

I've been with my Asian partner for 6 years now, and never faced any racism whatsoever. If racism is prevalent here I haven't seen it

Japan is up there with the best of them, but then again where isn't?

Yes it is, mind you a whole lot of Asians despise Black people. I have met some very racist Australians not to mention Americans. Tragically the British are not above racism and there's plenty of it throughout the rest of Europe.

Does it matter which country is the most racist ? The only thing that racism is alive and well and it's not a matter of skin colour any more.

Spot on, there is racism amongst and against people with white, brown and black skin...not just between those ethnic groups. The only time I have ever been threatened and racially abused was by two white men who had a bit of a problem with me being English.

Pauline Hanson said what most Australians felt, but Australia has come along way since. The best little country in the world NO WORRIES

Pauline Hanson said what most Australian pensioners felt, but Australia has come along way since. The best little country in the world NO WORRIES

Sorry, I had to edit your post and bold the important change.

Hanson got most of her support from pensioners in Queensland.

Which is why her political career died off at the same rate most of her supporters did.

Israelis aren't racist, they just consider all non Jews to be inferior. I went out with a girl who used to have an Israeli boyfriend, who would only have sex with her if she was covered in a sheet with a hole in the appropriate place (something to do with being an unclean gentile). ***No Pics***
