Rather rich friends of ours sent a round robin to all their contacts asking for stuff back, you know who you are! So I send them a note asking for my Burnside on Burnside album back, which they sheepishly sent back, snigger.

Lent someone a couple of N64 games and they moved back home to Wales without giving them back.

Gits.

Sussex, by the sea
A record bag of 20 albums and a box of 40-50 singles. In the boot of the taxi, we all hopped out in Shoreham, paid, before I got them out of the boot he drove off.

C***. Sealed the fate of my opinion of taxi drivers.

Ongoing saga between my mate and I.
He swears he lent me Dock of the Bay / Otis Redding single about 30 years ago. I'm pretty certain he didn't, well it's not in my collection anyway.
He's never forgotten and brings it up every time we meet.

Umberto Eco - Island of the Day Before.

Lent it to a girl I fancied at a job in London which was only 3 months long. Never saw the book or the girl again.

Could you not try to get a battered version of it, next time your round his house slide it behind a cupboard or down the back of his sofa. Don’t discover it immediately, get another mate or someone when they’re round there to discover it. That will be 30 years of wrongfully accusing you that he owes you!!

This Mortal Coil, It Will End in Tears. Lent it to a 'friend'. I did get it back, but 'Song to the Siren' had a big scratch in it.

He was an Albion fan - so if he's reading this, I haven't forgotten....

An old mate once lent me Karl Marx Capital probably over 25 years ago.
I mistakenly thought he said keep it but has since found out that was not the case.
I still have it and have never even got to page one.
I am sorry and have felt guilty ever since, it was probably his father's book too.
So Tom Edwards if per chance in the unlikely scenario that you have suddenly discovered football and a fondness for Brighton please make yourself known for me to return without any bodily hairs in it as like I said haven't turned a page.

‘Scally’ by Andy Nicholls to a Toffees supporting in-law of mine.

I think I met the author in Fonthill Road. Count myself as lucky if correct.

Lent 'PiHKAL: A Chemical Love Story' by Dr. Alexander Shulgin (aka 'The Godfather of Ecstacy') to a drug fiend of my acquaintance back in the early 90's. Never saw it or him again

The Pentateuch of the Cosmogony by Dave Greenslade. The album cover was a hardback book illustrated by Patrick Woodroffe. Thanks for reminding me as I’ve just ordered the CD version which comes with an illustrated booklet.

why lend albums out when you could agree to record it onto a cassette, and avoid the album coming back with finger prints all over it, or not coming coming back.
