Don’t discover it immediately, get another mate or someone when they’re round there to discover it. That will be 30 years of wrongfully accusing you that he owes you!!

I mistakenly thought he said keep it but has since found out that was not the case.
I still have it and have never even got to page one.
I am sorry and have felt guilty ever since, it was probably his father's book too.
