Marc Almond? He just looked....freaky.

And the creepy bald one out of Erasure.

And Sonia, the irritating, high pitched ginger scouse Waterman
robot.

But mostly Phil Collins, or any singer who ever did that headphone-clutched-earnestly-to-one-ear pose while warbling oh-so-sincerely into a microphone for Live Aid, USA For Africa or whatever the celebrity cause happened to be at the time.

Bob Geldof excepted probably.

Nothing wrong with the 1980s per se, Crabtree, but as with any period, it had its collection of utter arses.

Timmy Mallet, for example, had a number one in the 80s I believe.

On the other hand, the 80s also gave us A-Ha, for which I for one was extremely grateful while I was at primary school. And various other CLASSIC artists (sod off anyone born after 1989 as you're just far too young to be on here ;) ).

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Phil Collins yet.

PHIL COLLINS I don't know if that homeless song he did was in the 80s but if I had to plant one on an 80s popseter for any reason it would be him and it would be him for that

Collins makes me embarrased to own a black and decker workmate

in fact anyone who wore suit jackets with the sleaves rolled up should have one stuck on em

yeah true but in my eyes growing up in the 80s was full of the splendid colour of the costumes and make-up they would wear, it was'nt until the early 90s that I started seeing dickheads on Top Of The Pops!

His defence for which was the deeply surprising news that he's lived with his boyfriend for the last 12 years or so.

Don't think his surname's Jones, you may be confusing him with someone else. No idea what it is though.

Quality, quality songs.

I am going to cut your ears off Gareth because you clearly don't use them except for perching your sunglasses on. (Not big and red-rimmed are they?) Nik Kershaw's only redeeming feature is that he has finally stopped making music. I say music - I actually mean tone-deaf Bon Tempi-driven squawking that could send oil tankers in the English Channel off course.

Wouldn't It Be Good if he just f***ed off. The Riddle was how he became so popular in the first place. The short-arsed twat.

HOWEVER, he is not my nomination, nor are those smug wankers from Aha. That line-drawing cartoon video didn't fool anyone Morten, you're as talented and as ugly as a decomposing cauliflower.

My nomination is... CYNDI LAUPER. Just f*** off woman with your loud screeching voice and your loud screeching jumpsuit. AND WHERE ARE YOUR EYES?
