I think it is very clear that he is being manipulated. And before people jump in with the "but he's a grown man", age has little to do with your propensity to be controlled by other people.
So him joining Brighton was ‘good’ control and him joining Chelsea is ‘bad’ control ? Or was he not being controlled when he joined Brighton ? If he was, how can you justify that ? Sorry, I don’t think this theory is worth the time. What matters is Luton and the rest of the season, rather than psychological analysis of Caicedo.

I don’t think you can say no fault of his own. He signed with these agents, who have a shady reputation at best and at any point he could over rule what they say, he’s not got a gun held to his head.

Whilst I do blame the agents mostly, Moises definitely isn’t unaccountable for his actions.

I thought at least this representation was regarded as better than the absolute mess he had when we signed him with multiple parties claiming representation

I don’t know any more than anyone else on here but I do wonder if there is a girl behind all this? If he has met someone and she doesn’t want to move to Liverpool that would explain a lot for me. Love can be a powerful thing when the hormones are raging I seem to remember.

That’s all well and good but Caicedo’s career is not my priority. It has reached the stage where the events themselves are destabilizing and he is at the centre of it. It cannot be allowed to disrupt our club any longer and that’s why we held the auction, with a deadline. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tony seize the initiative again today and act in the best interests of the Albion.
Yes, there was a deadline but why are Barber and Bloom now allowing Chelsea to up the ante? If they do, of course.
Playing hardball doesn't resolve the situation but negotiations do. Liverpool haven't backed out yet.

I, personally don't think so. He flew his mother over to live in Brighton.

I don't know why everyone keeps saying living in Liverpool, even though there are some really nice areas in Liverpool. Most footballers (even the Burnley ones) live in Cheshire in Alderley Edge.

He didn't have the same agents when he moved to Brighton. He changed agents in January to these shady characters from Madrid, who apparently haven't been agents before.

Yes I get what you are saying but if he has met someone here and wants to be near her as opposed to living with her (good Christian boy and all that) that might explain the reluctance to move north. As you say, very nice areas to live especially Cheshire but if she is not for moving could be strong motivation to stay down south. Just musing, that’s all.

Through no fault of his own, regrettably his credibility and popularity are waning by the minute.
Hmm

His previous agent is taking legal action against him for breach of contract.

Loads of Liverpool players live north of Liverpool in the Formby area, or they did back in the day or for that matter on the Wirral, some of that is very posh.

Chelsea have obviously been struggling to legitimately raise the required fee due to ffp for weeks hence the lack of agreement, Liverpool sneak in but haven't spent months tapping moises up unlike Chelsea and both chelseas wages and his agents fee which are huge easily beats Liverpools, so on it goes, don't care too much who he ends up with although Liverpool with Alexis looks perfect if it was me, the main shit about all this is the fact we are being held up securing replacements and that's not on, if I was Tony I would say you've got til today to sort it else ALL deals off and he stays! People booing caceido? Grow up!

I’ve been wanting to say this for a while.

He’s a shy, God fearing 21 year old from an unsophisticated part of a country that is completely different to the UK. He knows how to play football. He knows almost nothing else. Because of this he has been led all his life by people who have told him they have his best interests at heart. At least one of them doesn’t.

He’s now in an impossible position having alienated RDZ and some fans like you, but unwilling, or unable to push back against his agent(s).

Blame him if you want to. I wish him well and thank him for giving me the opportunity to watch a player who could be the world’s best in his position. Whether that will happen will be down to the greedy leeches advising him. I’d boo them in a heartbeat. In fact I’d ban them from The Amex and start to investigate legal proceedings against them. But don’t take it out on the lad himself, who is basically being used as a cash cow.
You have expressed the sentiments of many of us, better than we could. Thank you.....

I would just add that I have an enduring contempt for Caicedo's agents and the toxic club that is Chelsea.... the latter being a plaything for a soulless Russian oligarch and now a billionaire American who has no understanding of British football culture and believes ethics is a place East of London..

Exactly. It might be that they've got a support network down here. People are framing this as some sort of good vs evil thing (benign fluffy Liverpool vs evil new money Chelsea) because they hate Chelsea. There's clearly more factors at play.

Didn't Moises at in an interview that he was crying at night time in Belgium because he was lonely? Or words to that effect. I wonder how much that experience has affected him.

As @Guinness Boy said, he's a young kid from a poor part of South America, it's too simplistic to just set he's an adult and knows what he's doing. I'll bet any money that his education finished very early. Probably the rest of his family as well, they won't have any choice but to be guided by other people, these dodgy agents are probably just the end of a long line of dodgy agents.

I would be surprised if we see much movement in this weekend. I imagine TB and PBOBE have put on DND so they can focus on the game later. And Chelsea will be doing their own prep tomorrow. I’m guessing this rolls into next week. Sigh

I’m not sure what there is to negotiate about. Chelsea and Liverpool entered the auction knowing the rules. It isn’t playing hardball to refuse to accept further delay.

We should not boo him .A better idea would be a new version of the Poznan, we all turn our backs on him drop our trousers and show him our hairy buttocks. That will put him off his game.{Waxed buttocks are acceptable}.It would be very difficult to eject 30.000 fans wobbling out doing The March of The Penguins.
