If Moises Caicedo doesn't get his Chelsea move perhaps he can part the English Channel and make his way to PSG?
Is it 'his Chelsea' move or is it simply a big money anywhere move? He said his dream was to play for Manchester United, he then said he was desperate to join Arsenal and now he is apparently predisposed in favour of Chelsea. Given how toxic Chelsea have filleted our club over the past year, I really hope he goes elsewhere and we will certainly miss such a high calibre player but at least we don't have a club full of uber-mercenaries.....

Yeah I’m not denying that. But the average kid from Ecuador or any South American or African country is not going to have any understanding of or care about that.
I’m talking about my own opinion of Chelsea not being prestigious. I cant speak for anyone else’s opinion.

Exactly. Nail on the head. It’s just money.

Yep, he spits the dummy, calms down signs a new contract, I guess he is on bloody good money, then is once again (supposedly) spitting the dummy because we wont meet CHA's valuation. In the meantime he is with one of the best run clubs anywhere, playing under a manager who many pundits say has us playing the most exiting football they have ever seen (it was either Klop or Pep who described our style as revolutionary), we damn nearly made it into the Champions League, got to the semi finals of the FA cup and the man boy wants to leave, someone should be suing his agents for malpractice.
That's all lovely

But if a rival company to the one you worked for offered to double your salary would you honestly turn them down because the company you currently work for is run better ?!

Now I know how Benfica fans felt. Personally want the kid gone now, he doesn’t want to be here then so be it. His attitude will just stink up the dressing room.
What attitude?

Could it be you're making things up, here?

This is a well established argument and I agree; I just think this whole business needs a large dose of honesty now; the image of Cucurella kissing the badge after scoring against Manchester United really sticks in my craw....

We'll that depends. He's 21. He could gain a lot of experience staying with us for one more season and that could help his prospects no end in joining a bigger club than Chelsea on maybe even better wages in the summer of 2024. I'd certainly be looking at that than wages for one more season, but I guess other people mindsets don't work like that. One injury could change everything. It is a n interesting conundrum.

Looking from the outside in on the whole story is quite fascinating. The media circus has built this whole story up over the last 8 months, flogging a Club's player to all and sundry, yet the club have been utterly resolute. We don't need to sell, but pay the £100m and he's yours. They try and spin the story in so many different ways, attack it from so many angles, yet the underlying stance from the Club is always pay the £100m and he's yours, no deviation, no soundbites, no compromise. It's amazing to watch the media feeding frenzy based on nothing else, but thin air. It's actually amusing to see the Chelsea fan on here trying to gaslight us now into saying how badly it'll reflect on future transfer purchases if we don't let him go on the cheap!

I'm hundred percent behind Uncle Tone holding out for £100m (it's not my money, so hey, be stubborn), but I sit here and think, play one more season for us, get European experience and the world is your oyster. The lad is just coming across as not being the sharpest tool in the box and badly advised by agents who are trying to cash in on their one decent asset.
Deeply religious.

That's the same thing, isn't it?

I broadly agree but I'm not sure why some are saying he's not the sharpest tool in the box... where's the evidence of that, and it's not that relevant, Shirley. Agents are agents.

I do get it. I honestly do.

The teams that you’d regard as biggest of them all are in a list of 7-10. Chelsea aren’t one of those.

Moises may have ambitions to join one of them at some point but may see a move to Chelsea as the best shop window to place him in to make that ambition come true.

We don’t have Barca/real shopping at our door. Chelsea do.

It’s a big move now for a bigger move later (possibly) or no big move now for a bigger move later (possibly).

Anyone who has ever had career progression discussions/plans knows that the journey is often difficult abd not always obvious.

And people made a big deal of Chelsea underbidding for him and couldn't understand why they wouldn't "just pay the price". This is exactly why. Keep bidding, stay in the conversation, let the pressure build and let the player/agents do their bit by pushing for the deal internally, and still with ages left in the window.

The team definitely trained yesterday, a mate of mine took his kids to mash barn, I assume the team just trained without RDZ (probably more of a recovery session I guess?)

Ignore all the noise and player behaviour we all know the Chelsea mugs will pay what bloom wants as he is their number one target and they have a new manager to please. Bloom knows this which is why holding firm in the clubs valuation. Won’t be influenced by a player who has so many years left on his current deal so has no option but to knuckle down if he stays.

We've taken on 3 Gen Z graduates over the last 12-18 months. They're all bright and well qualified academically, but f*** me, the level of entitlement from them is off the scale! I've never had staff that have taken more man management than these 3.

Anyway, carry on. I wonder what unsubstantiated Caicedo rumours will be doing the rounds today?

Must be draining! This popped up in a recent study...

When asked about the national police force’s efforts to attract and retain new recruits, Kershaw said that there is a need to shift their mentoring scheme to account for this recent finding.

“We learnt that Gen Z, the younger generation, need three times a week praise [sic] from their supervisors,” the AFP commissioner said, while acknowledging the disparity when presented against his own generation (Gen X).

“The next generation [Millennials] only needs three times a year, and my generation (Gen X) only need once a year.”

Moises didn't train yesterday and is not happy with Brighton's 'stance' according to radio 5 news ten minutes ago.

Did he say 'stance' though?

That’s all lovely too, except the existing company has got you on a five year contract and expects you to honour it regardless of what carrots are being dangled as enticement to leave.

Other people's mindsets do work like that - just not if they're PL footballers.

Very few talented footballers honour their contracts when a big offer comes in. Large long contracts means getting a better price when selling.
