Read the other day that Conner Gallagher is a ready made replacement for Caicedo. If that's the case why get rid of him and buy Caicedo?
Why? Chelsea have done more than anyone else in England since 2000? And they also pay the most?If Moises joins Chelski, then he is a f***ing idiot (with a large bank balance). I would never wish him well there. Would understand City, Arsenal or Liverpool but Chelsea.
*Really hope he stays obviously.
Losing Caicedo is not w option for me, too important. BUT if it happens, then yes, Colwill needs to be part of that.I wonder if anybody's considered Colwill's view on all this? He's enjoyed himself playing for Brighton - maybe he'd rather stay here and not go back to Chelsea; unikely I suppose, because Chelsea will pay him a lot more. But looking at it longer term (a difficult concept for PL players and their voracious agents, I know) he's only, what - 19? 20? so a couple of years at Brighton, playing in Europe, learning his trade, developing, breaking through to the England team (and all the while earning about £3M a year) as a stepping stone to a much bigger move, to a much bigger and better club would be a pretty good plan.
Chelsea would want a pretty hefty sell-on clause, which is fair enough. It would be great though if he would start pushing for a move from Chelsea, turning down a new contract and threatening to play out his time and eventually leave on a free if he doesn't get the move he wants now. Oh boy, bring it on, PERLEEEASE! £40M plus Colwill for Caicedo would be a great transfer deal.
Isn't the rest of the sentence something like '...as long as our valuation is reached.'?The problem is, given the narrative seems to be 'he wants to leave and has had assurances he can leave' how will he react to not going this summer?
He was exemplary after the January bid, but he might just look at the Mac transfer (obviously entirely different) and create an agent fuelled fuss.
I suspect we will be looking for the 100million mark, something like 90 plus add ons likely to be very hard to turn down.
And Mac Allister said the same a week before joining Liverpool. He’ll be going. The lad himself said he’s relaxed about it and happy to play for us next season if he doesn’t move on. I personally think he will be an Albion player until at least January when a big club panics and pays the £100m. Chelsea won’t budge on Levi so can’t see a deal being done this summer.
Trouble is Chelsea have been firm in stating he's not for sale, he'll be an integral part of the team for years to come etc etc. Even if we could make colwill part of any deal, I don't see how they could row back from that position without looking even more incompetent.Losing Caicedo is not w option for me, too important. Chelsea are manufactured to some extent I remember going away to Chelsea in the old second division standing on a crumbling terrace watching us get beat yet again in front of a 9000 gate. The Russian paid for Chelsea to be the club they are today. I know a few old school Chelsea fans who stopped going when the money arrived and tourists started to take over the place. Why? I remember going to Brighton games in the old third division, sitting on a rickety temporary stand in front of a gate of 3,000. The Gambler paid for Brighton to be the club we are today.Chelsea are manufactured to some extent I remember going away to Chelsea in the old second division standing on a crumbling terrace watching us get beat yet again in front of a 9000 gate. Arsenal buy Rice and with their remaining budget go for Lavia because he's cheaper. Chelsea go for Onana for the same reason. Caicedo stays here. I doubt it, but maybe.Lot of noise about Chelsea wanting Amadou Onana who will be far cheaper than caciedo and a very similar player. Can't see them signing both.
And Mac Allister said the same a week before joining Liverpool. He’ll be going.
I would also add we have achieved recent success with one of the smallest budgets in the league so whilst yes Bloom has built what we are today it’s been done in the right way.I remember going to Brighton games in the old third division, sitting on a rickety temporary stand in front of a gate of 3,000. I get your point and I'm clearly being facetious but let's not pretend we would be where we are without significant investment. We're just damned lucky that the money came from a life-long fan.
Well then we will be the same with Moises.Trouble is Chelsea have been firm in stating he's not for sale, he'll be an integral part of the team for years to come etc etc. Even if we could make colwill part of any deal, I don't see how they could row back from that position without looking even more incompetent.
Didn't want to start a new thread about F*brizio R*mano, but Brentford fans are doing a grand job winding him up...
Why do we refer to bigger and better club. Can't think of a better club to be at currently?I wonder if anybody's considered Colwill's view on all this? Which is the consequence FFP is supposed to deliver. Good.According to 90 mins website
"Chelsea may have to turn their attention away from Moises Caicedo and Andre Onana, amid apparent concerns over potential transfer fees.
The Blues have been strongly linked with the Brighton midfielder and Inter Milan goalkeeper as they look to bolster their squad for new boss Mauricio Pochettino.
But neither player would come cheap – and, after splurging around £600m (€700m) in the first two transfer windows since Todd Boehly’s takeover, Chelsea will have to rein in their spending somewhat this summer in order to avoid possible Financial Fair Play (FFP) breaches."
