I don't think they can afford it. I read yesterday any deal above 105m (for any more players this window) and they're in breach of FFP and will get points deduction this season.

Read it where exactly (please provide a link)?

Why are you believing this nonsense?

Chelsea could be facing an investigation for money spent over the Abramovic era, and could break FFP, but there's no way the governing bodies have gone 'ok Todd, I've done some maff and decided you can spend £104million (ignore the reports a couple of days ago that you couldn't even spend £100m, that was a joke), but if you spend £105m you lose points.'

So it makes no difference what salary they offer, what other players are sold, what income deals they make, it's all down to whether they spend £105m or not.

For Christ sake it's f***ing bullshit.

Can't anyone engage their brain?

He won’t be going to Liverpool now, you can’t make a club as big as that feel like second choice then go running back when your first choice can’t stump the money up.

What a strange way to behave, when Liverpool came in I thought it would be perfect for him, evidently not.
I thought this but can only conclude our club told Liverpool that Caicedo had some insane pre contract agreement with Chelsea and that it would therefore not be plain sailing for them to get it done.

I suspect Liverpool are happy to take their chances and ride out this Chelsea nonsense. They must know the Chelsea offer is a busted flush and as such they will get their man if he moves at all.

Pass by Mac in behind Colwill and finished past Sanchez. With Cucu sat on the bench, looking at Poch with puppy dogs eyes. You sure, Moises?
Great pass by Mac, and very nice from Salah too. And against Chelsea - what's not to like?

TS reporting that we’re ‘very close to agreement’ with Chelsea over MC now, deal expected within 24 hours @115m plus a sell-on clause.

The Chelsea £110m limit comments come from a couple of ITK Twitter accounts from smart posters who are however speculating wildly about some fairly critical figures, specifically income, wages, player sale profits, amortisation and covid/Abramovich frozen asset allowances.

I can stick numbers in a spreadsheet to come up with everything from Chelsea still having a bit of wiggle room to Todd Boehly phoning up @Lenny Rider to arrange the funeral for the club, depending on what you choose/want to believe.

Todd ‘4-4-3’ Boehly, for whom I have a dislike based on non football matters which can’t be discussed here as the club monitor NSC and also I like Bozza, is taking the common corporate approach of mysteriously finding some financial issues that are blamed on previous management, although a cursory glance of t’internet would have brought them up if you were doing even some basic due diligence when bidding for the club.

Kanté offshore shenanigans

From BBC Chelsea v Liverpool match report:

John: Tony Bloom adding a couple million to Caicedo's fee having watched both these midfields' struggling to perform even the most basic tasks.
John: Caicedo must be watching the mediocrity on display from both these sides wondering if he can return to Brighton (if De Zerbi still remembers him that is).
