We seem to have got a bit muddled here somewhere, as I was talking about what would happen if both Arsenal and Chelsea had made the same offer, and those offers were acceptable to Mr Bloom.

Whilst last August they were absolutely loathed in this parish, “scummy club” “scummy, racist fans” “always hated them”. Anger that Boehly was on a spending spree that included Cucu.

Perhaps I’m wrong, but I detect a chilled air about Caicedo signing for them.

I'd struggle to understand Moises choosing to leave us for Chelsea. Surely it'd be better for him to:

a) go to a team like Arsenal who have CL football
or b) if no CL or EL team are in for him, stick with us until January. That way he'll have tasted 6 European games and if Chelsea have rebuilt well under Poch, I'm sure they'd be back in for him. Arsenal came hunting for him in January when they were top of the league, so I doubt it'd stop Chelsea even if they are much improved.

All he does going to Chelsea now is risk getting stuck there if it all goes pear shaped with Poch, which it plausibly could do.

As much as I can’t stand them, imho Chelsea will finish top 5 with ease.

Buying key players this summer, then a week’s rest/prep between each PL game. Whilst Mancs x 2, Villa, Albion (yes, little old us), Liverpool, Arsenal, West Ham and Newcastle have a constant stream of European games.

On that very basis, Chelsea won the league under Conte.

I feel like Chelsea is his most likely destination but also the destination that will be near impossible to negotiate. They want Caicedo, we want Colwill, but Chelsea have currently said they won’t let Colwill go. So therefor you’ll have two stubborn clubs standing firm and a deal won’t happen. If you could get it to the point where Chelsea will let Colwill go if they got Caicedo then you can be sure they’d want to insert some type of buy back clause bollox on the Colwill deal, which we wouldn’t go for, so back to square one. & even if you could get past that point then you’re going to have some tricky negotiations over whether it’s a straight swap or whether it’s Colwill plus cash, and then how much cash?!? It’s basically a clusterfuck of a deal that could be impossible to negotiate.

If your only choice was Chelsea this summer, and you’re as young and good as Moises is then surely you’d do another season with us in Europe rather than joining them on a non European season & then revisit things next summer.

Why would both bids ever match? Arsenal don't have Colwill to throw into the equation.

I really hope Cacedo desn't go to Chelsea (not that I'd be delirously happy about him going to Arsenal either). Shit club, and Pochetino's pretty much Potter Mkll, except that he's foreign and a bit of a 'name' so that fans - and some of the players - won't just regard him with scorn as some nonentity from #clubslikebrighton.

Whatever Poch does for Chelsea, Potter could have done too next season - just the howls of outrage from 'The Entitled' (chav fans, and some players alike) made Tod whatsisname lose his nerve.

If I had to put money on it I reckon Moises will be turning out for until at least January.

Can't see who else will pay up the money, especially if Arsenal have now bought Rice.

The only way I see this happening is if Chelsea offer an obscene amount of money or they let us have Colwill.

Not sure they will let us have Colwill as Boehly won't want to have his pants pulled down by Bloom again.
