Anyway, that's that then. I'm confident that we'll spend the 45-55m very wisely on players that no one has heard of but will have armchair fans of big 6 clubs will be moaning about us not letting them buy them for peanuts in 3-4 years time.

Sorry, Alexis, but you're just a scouse **** to me now.

At least it wasn't to vile Manure or the petro state cheats.

He was rubbish anyway.

Is he tall? No.
Is he a speed demon? Not really?
Can he tackle like Caicedo? No.

What's that? He can scoore when he is only 12 yards from goal and the ball is put nice and still for him on a spot with noone trying to get him?

Big whoop. He didn't win the world cup. Messi and 10 blokes did.

Selling MacAllister doesn't prove there was any release clause.

It proves we are sticking to our model of not standing in the way of players moving to bigger clubs.
Well even Naylor isn’t denying it, or being briefed by the club to deny it.

So in summary:

Yes we aren't getting as much as we thought we would, but we would have got far less had he not signed the new deal with this 'clause'.

Romano is probably the most well connected 'transfer guy'. Of course a lot of what he reports is fed by agents, and circumstances can change, but he is rarely wrong when he reports something as fact.

Even £55m seems cheap, not entirely happy with this TBH.

Yes trust Tony and the club, but even so it's tough to take.

45 + add ons. That would've been what we were discussing this week.

Whatever the amount the one thing we can all agree on is that he has been a fantastic servant to the club. A wonderful man who's partly responsible for our increase in profile and goes down as one of the greats and definitely one of the very best to wear the stripes. Good luck Ale Mac x
