Don't get too excited, for the love of Tony.

Like I said in the previous post, Milner was announced ages ago maybe we were allowed to approach him earlier and the clubs have a decent working relationship.

Apologies if this was such an outrageous comment on a gossip and guess thread.
You do understand a player is allowed to speak to another club in the last 6 months of their contract, OK perhaps you didn't! It has nothing to do with their current club at all. So yes it is an outrageous lack of knowledge.

Why have other teams not bid? Maybe, for whatever reason the only team this apples to is Liverpool. Maybe Mac Snr had spoken to them prior to the contract?
Why is there a release clause? Because if there wasn't there'd be at least ten worldwide teams bidding for him. Why have Chelsea not come in for him? Because they can't. It's simple.

Do you understand that 6 month rule does not apply for clubs in England?

Can Premier League players agree a pre-contract with another English club?

'The six-month rule when it comes to discussions regarding a future change of scenery relates to teams outside of the country in which the player plies their trade at that time.

Premier League players can, therefore, only enter into talks with interested parties outside of England – with the same regulations applying to those in Germany, Spain, Italy etc.

Any player looking to move from one English team to another as a free agent can only open talks after entering the final month of their previous contract – with that effectively delaying discussions until any given season has come to a close.'

To be fair, Bissouma was quite good until he joined Spurs. :ROFLMAO:
Slightly off topic, but an incredible downturn, almost Cucurelaesque 😂

Which merely highlights the versatility of players, relating to their value . . .

White 50m - most defensive areas
Biss - 100m at one thing - at BHA, Spuds . . .£3.75 on the bench

Caicedo is more valuable than Alexis, more versatile, more melleable, younger, stronger etc etc . . . But a WC medal sells.

The best business TB can do this summer is cash in on ALi MAc AND keep Caicedo for another year.

Perhaps other ‘big’ clubs did sound out a move?

Chelsea’s priorities appear to be strikers, a goalie and a more defensively minded midfielder. They’re limited by FFP and have to sell players, they can’t do an Abramovich/Abu Dhabi this summer in ‘having it all’.

MacA - 98 PL appearances, 16 goals, 5 assists.
Caicedo - 45, 2, 2.

I think they’re both great players, Caicedo is even better defensively, MacA is more creative with a better eye for goal.

If a meteor was heading towards earth Naylor would tweet it’s not here yet, as in the Cuccu deal does he really know anything we don’t.

Yes. He repeatedly tweeted that Caicedo was going nowhere in January when, let's face it, we all thought that it was inevitable after that Insta post.

My thoughts exactly.

Plus, if this supposed release clause is lower than £45/50m like Fabrizio says it is, then what was the point in the new contract we gave Mac before the World Cup?

It all doesn't add up.
What was the end date for his contract pre world cup? Unless there wasn't long left, it does seem odd we'd give him a pay rise and add a release clause, unless there was one already there. And release clauses aren't something we've seen with other players we've sold.

In The Athletic, on 26th April, Naylor stated that 'Losing Mac Allister and Caicedo would bring in upwards of £160million'

So of MAC is going for the fee that is stated, then Caicedo would have to go for £100m+

Or Naylor knew nothing of the release clause situation.

The latter.

All he’s done today is repeat the widely known Ornstein genuinely-ITK tweet from a while back.

Moises caicedo agent got trashed on here for wafting Moises around like a piece of meat and almost forcing his sale, Macs parents have been courted by Liverpool supposedly since late last year, it just doesn’t sit right with me.

A fantastic player but IMO I find it strange people acting as though he is holier than thou, just because he didn’t directly speak to Liverpool I’m guessing he wasn’t exactly against his dad bending the rules and doing it anyway? Sounds like the ‘clause’ in his contract was specifically for this situation in mind, which leaves a sour taste.
It's completely different - Moises basically said thanks and goodbye mid-season, without the club giving him any reason to think we'd sell him. Mac Allister has worked hard for us all season (as you'd expect) and done nothing wrong. He's not thrown his toys out the pram to force a move or handed in a request. If there's a clause in the contract that specifies Liverpool, then obviously our club would have realised that he intended to go to Liverpool and that there'd be contact between them.

I did hear Mac’s father insisted on the release clause although cannot confirm.
When we originally signed him from Juniors?

Naylor did come into his own during the Arsenal-Caicedo drama in January. The mainstream media and usual suspects such as Romano were seemingly being briefed by Arsenal/Caicedo’s agent that the transfer was a near cert. So it was fkn amazing when Naylor said we definitely weren’t selling, full stop. Obviously briefed by the Albion, they only trusted him.

Brighton transfer news: Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister price tags set at more than £70m each

Sky Sports 05.05.2023

'The players are both on long contracts, which are not thought to include release clauses as CEO Paul Barber has revealed the club avoids them'

Melissa Reddy- Senior Reporter

Ooops...
It's amazing all of the gimps online believe anything they read by that FR cock and think it's true. He was signing today apparently, well, quite clearly NOT. I've accepted he is going and will miss him, but we are so well placed with MD and JL coming into the fray. Caicedo concerns me a little.
