The Mill House Easthill drive Portslade.
Not when I was serving in there, you wouldn't. Having just turned 18, I could tell to the month

Was that the one opposite Ardingly college? I remember a pal from that village introducing me to that place. An amazing place if you were 15/16, especially useful for pupils from the school opposite. Didn’t even need my dodgy ID!

County Oak (Hollingbury), Shakespeare’s Head (Spring St) and Henekeys all at 15. By the time we were invited to leave secondary education - Shades, Abinger, Druids, Fleece, Sussex etc like most of Brighton from the late 70s onwards.
Were you headhunted?
Might have been The Avins Bridge ? that was further down from the college though Oak was in the village near the RBL club I think ?

Do you remember the organist in Henekeys. I'm convinced that's where Ron Mael got his whole act from
Ardingly Inn is opposite the RBL. The Oak is/was along the same road opposite a green. The Avins Bridge was the original Railway Hotel. Finally opposite the showground is the Gardners.
i lived in Ardingly for 13 years
Drinking wise Dog and Bacon Horsham aged 14
