Thanks @Bozza, now going to have to go and buy some blancmange. Probably still got the rabbit mould somewhere in the kitchen too. Might grab a tin of Carnation while I’m at it 😛

I had Blancmange at school dinners pre 1967.
I haven't missed it a bit.

Probably about 10 years ago.

I had a real nostalgic hankering for it having regularly had it in the 80’s for school dinner and at home. Pleaded with my other half that we have it some time - we did and I swore to never eat the muck again! Absolutely vile stuff!

I went to a blancmange party once. The shit was bloody everywhere.

I bet the house stunk the next day.

Probably not since junior school. So nearly 50 years ago!

Angel Delight on the other hand, still have it occasionally as a guilty treat/pleasure.

Crushed ginger nuts base, butterscotch Angel Delight and tinned peaches 😀
My mum used to make a "Black forest trifle". It was a layer of chocolate swiss roll, a layer of cherry pie filling on top of that, all topped of with chocolate angel delight. Loved it at the time.

Primary school was the last time I saw it, but always opted for cornflake tart & custard or rice pudding with a dollop of jam in the middle. I actually had an Oliver Twist moment with the cornflake tart once.
